More photos to come...we recently took a tour of the East Building of the NC Art Museum hosted by the

Our tour  on December 5, of the NC Art Museum was one hour long, 

Pardon some of the snaps...there were 50 folks on the tour.

Five docents 10 to a group so lots of heads and bodies in my way.

Our docent was especially fond of modern art and shared lots and lots of information.

This one is called Man with Renoir.

our Docent asked for thoughts about it.  Many spoke of fences

I liked the vibrant colors.  surprise surprise

Most beautiful Menorah I've ever seen.  It was actually on loan to the White House many years ago for a State Dinner

There were many more beautiful pieces of  Jewish art lots of silver and engraving.  This was a small room and very hard to snap.  Our Docent had lots of information to share about this small exhibit.

Only non Modern Art she spoke about...because we asked about it. We've seen it many times but thoroughly enjoyed the comments she had and those of those in our group

Too funny there were some math geeks in the group contemplating how many parts and pieces.

My friend Ramona a fantastic Mosaic artist would  have loved this.

This exhibit concluded our one hour tour which passed quickly we needed to scurry to pick boxed lunches.

NC Retired Government Employee's Assoc. for the tour  and there was a free lunch...

 Free Lunch was catered by Jason's Deli, we had a choice of our sandwiches.

We both had ham on wheat, with packages of mustard or mayo, Miss Vickie's Potato chips,

large kosher pickle, water and a huge chocolate chip cookie.  5 ***** .  No photos we grabbed our lunch made a quick exit.  Someone in our group wore an entire bottle of perfume.  I am very sensitive to strong aromas.  Coupled with being inside I had a headache.

As soon as we got outside the headache was gone.  

Each person on the tour received a very nice tote with lots of pockets

Everyone loves lots of pockets.

Dearest Auntie HiC,

On November 25 we had a very WARM day.

We have a cold front heading our way, and we’ll have chilly temps the first week of December. Mom decided to take advantage of pleasant temps today, and put out a few Christmas decorations on the screened in porch.

I told Mom  I thought it was a bad idea since Cali Girl is still a wild & crazy girl!  But did she listen to me? Nope!

As it turns out, I underestimated my sister.

Not only did she walk out, and relax under the tree….

she actually went to sleep!

It’s an early Christmas miracle!

I like to think I’ve been an excellent role model.

Kat Auntie HiC is in Awe x 100.  Cali Girl, and all girls are unpredictable.
Just when you think you have figured them out…you realize you have more to learn.
Please tell Cali she is the most precious decoration ever. Mom told me the 'tree skirt' is really a tablecloth.  I love versatile things.

Sunday Selfie of Icelandic Yule Cat

I recently watched Christmas Quest, on Hallmark.

What beautiful scenery and lights.  This is 

The Yule Cat, or Jólakötturinn in Icelandic, is a giant, vicious cat from Icelandic Christmas folklore that eats children who don't receive new clothes before Christmas Eve: 

• Appearance

  The Yule Cat is described as a huge cat with glowing eyes that towers over homes and forests.

• Behavior  HE would stave in the house hold we love new clothes.

  The Yule Cat prowls the snowy countryside on Christmas night, looking in the windows of each house it passes by. It looks through the presents the children have received and eats the children who didn't receive new clothes. 
Origin
The legend of the Yule Cat is thought to have originated as a way to encourage farmers to finish their work in time so that everyone had enough supplies to make clothing. It was also used to convince children to do their chores so they would receive new clothes on Christmas morning.
