Feline and Nature Friday

Thanks Comedy Plus for hosting Feline Friday

Thanks LLB Gang for hosting Nature Friday

My husband is a huge fan of model railroading especially O scale.
There are zillions of  entertaining and informative videos on YouTube.
Recently he discovered Cats can be Rail fans too
We both enjoyed this one with two fancy footed felines: Tuxie and Tabby
I took these photos of the TV screen while he watched the video

Thoroughly, Thankful, Poetic Thursday and Wacky Holidays

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS  and Wacky Holidays are both about squirrels!!

Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is our inspiration

From my window I watched
Three Hoggy squirrels stashing nuts,
In and out
Scurrying about
Three little furries
In such a hurry
They all forgot that
what goes in
MUST
GO OUT

Thankful Thursday hosted by

Today I'm very thankful to tell you my husband received his first Pfizer COVID
vaccine on Monday, January 18.  The facility was efficient and organized in and out in about 30 min.  He did not feel the vaccine being administered.  The injection site is a wee bit sore but that is it.  2nd vaccine is scheduled for February 8.
I am in the queue at my medical facility.  They will advise via medical portal when and where I should go for mine.

Today I join Ranger for Wacky January Holidays

Today, January 21st is Squirrel Appreciation Day

Playing with Words on wordless Wednesday

Hosted by Comedy Plus

Last Friday, January 15th we took a beautiful 45 minute walk in the
Turnberry neighborhood...which is just about two blocks from home.
As we walked about we decided the area took on a bit of Scotland in the names.
We drive thru there a lot but little we have never walked there.
Since getting there requires lots of Walk and Don't Walk signs to cross a very
busy eight lane road divided by a median we drove to a close by shopping center.

TURNS
out it was a BERRY good idea

We saw lots of interesting street names, Wee Burn, Troone, Plaza, Turnstone, Sleepy Hollow
Contour and Calton,

We thought there was just two ways in and out of the
neighborhood but we learned there were more.

I like words and names and often wonder about origins.  I googled a few of the street names

TURNBERRY:
Turnberry is a golf resort on the Firth of Clyde in Ayrshire, southwest Scotland. It comprises three links golf courses, a golf academy, a five-star James Miller-designed hotel from 1906, along with lodge and cottage accommodations.

TROONE:
The search on Troone asked me to enter a birthdate I entered mine

I do not know how you feel about it, but you were a female in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere around the territory of Portugal approximately on 975. Your profession was jeweler and watch-maker.

As an inquisitive and inventive person, you liked to get to the very bottom of things and to rummage in books. Talent for drama, natural born actor. The world is full of ill and lonely people. You should help those, who are less fortunate than you are.

Wee Burn

Wee means small in size or extent. [Scottish, informal] I've got a wee kitten in the flat. He just needs to calm down a wee bit.
Burn: In local usage, a burn is a kind of watercourse. The term applies to a large stream or a small river. The word is used in Scotland and England (especially North East England) and in parts of Ulster, Australia and New Zealand.

Sleepy Hollow
A drowsy, dreamy influence seems to hang over the land, and to pervade the very atmosphere. — Washington Irving, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" The story is set in 1790 in the countryside around the Dutch settlement of Tarry Town (historical Tarrytown, New York), in a secluded glen known as Sleepy Hollow.
This was a fun walk and helped met talk

Today's Wacky January Holiday is National Cheese Lovers Day
we are avid lovers of all things cheesy here.
TASTY dish
3 ingredient biscuits recipe at the bottom
We especially liked them because they are bite size and
we can eat more.

Recipe:
3 ingredient biscuits
1- 8oz package of canned biscuits
4 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons of crumbled blue cheese
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Cut biscuits into quarters, arrange in two 8" round baking dishes.
Melt together the butter and blue cheese. Pour over biscuits in
both dishes.  Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown
I am not a big fan of blue cheese;  however, these biscuits were really tasty.

Happy Tuesday with Cody

 Hosted by Comedy Plus

I've been kinda worried about Cody.  The last time I saw him
was October 30, 2020. Photo below.  I stopped to chat with his mom.
It was her 50th bday.  At that time she told me Cody was 13 1/2.
Cody is a mix Great Pyrenes and Newfie. He never barks.
When he was younger he would stand to greet you when you approached.
He would slowly move his head until it met your hand.
Cody now holds court sitting in his official SPOT
Any time we walk in the 'hood Cody is here.

I was over the moon with all kinds of happy on
Thursday January 14, 2021
And even happier that he got up to greet me.
