Road Trip:Tram to Hidden Valley Vet Clinic #1-3

Ok we're here I see the door. Wanna know why my eyes are so big? Mom just open the car door, released my seat belt and vrooooom there goes a motorcycle by....scared the bejeepers out of me. I'm not used to loud noises.

Hidden Valley Animal Clinic #2

Well here I am, I've been released from the tram (aka jail) but this does not smell like my home but has some comforts of home. See how thoughtful my vet clinic is...They always put soft, plush mats on the exam table. I like this too because the cold stainless steel table first thing in the morning on my paws is not good.

Escape Hidden Valley Tram #3

Dad was waiting for us when we got home.
He unlatched my tram and let me tell you I was out of there. Dr. S was pleased with my overall health thank goodness he did not recommend Mom sign me up for Jenny Craig...well at least not yet. I weighed 11.3 on July 26, 2008, today, July 25, 2009 I weigh 11.45. He said the amount of food I was getting was good...but that it would not hurt to cut back about 10% on the dry food. Not what I wanted to hear. I rec'd 4 shots (two needles). I was very brave. I also have a very taste treat that contains heartworm medicine. Even though I'm indoors only Dr. S is recommending all kitties be on preventive. They had a very unfortunate case of an indoor only kitty getting heartworms last year. Last year he gave me Advantage drippy stuff . I was thrilled to get back home into the peace and quiet of my house....I gotta tell you there was a lot of barking goin' on in there. Alls well that ends well....glad that is over for another year. Madi and Mom...she takes good care of me...

My annual road trip Part I

Earlier this week, I heard rumblings that my annual road trip was coming up....no it is not a 'cat-cation'...it is my purrfect kitty (aka well kitty) check up with my favorite Vet Dr. Szabo. I like him, 'cause he always tells Mom how clean my teeth are (naturally), how shiny my fur is and says what glistening eyes I have. You see Mom isn't completely to blame for my Diva status. Wednesday night I took a very good bath. I washed behind my ears, cleaned my eyes, washed under my arms (all four), clean between my toes and well you know everywhere else. Thursday night, I'm walking into the kitchen for a cool drink from my fresh water fountain, Mom says to Dad, 'grab Madi'. He says 'why' he is my buddy and always has my back. Mom says, 'we need to clip her nails'. Yikes, before I could high tail it to a safe place, Dad's holding me in his arms like a hu-baby while saying, 'Madi it isn't my idea, it is Mom's, don't scratch the messenger'. (FYI: no pictures of pedicure, it takes all hands on deck for this job). Now cutting the nails is no biggy. Mom does a good, quick job and Dad always whispers sweet nothings to calm my inner lion. But I say to myself why didn't they do this Tuesday...now I have human all over me...I have to bathe again....ah a kitty's life is hard. Stay tuned for Part II, Annual Road Trip on Saturday

A tribute to my Dog and Cat friends...

'Our Perfect companions never have fewer than four feet' ~~~~Colette

This handsome fellow is Yogi the Corgi. Yogi lives with my peep's very good friends. Yogi and I haven't actually met but I hear he is very nice. I'm posting his picture here to let all my very nice dog friends know how much I appreciate them...

Thank you to all my kitty friends who visit ....because as John Lennon said, 'I get by with a little help from all my friends'

We are all very lucky to own such good humans,

Thursday 'Tails'

Yep this is a post about my tail...oh so embarassing but what can I do? I'm not in control of the keyboard. Mom says I have the most beautiful tail, which I guess is a good thing. She is prejudice though. She loves how fluffy and expressive it is and most of all the length.
1.Greeting tail: I greet her each morning with it raised as high as possible, as in the above picture. The very tip is curved kind of like '?', just in case you can't tell from the picture. This says good morning Mom, what's cookin'
2.Back off tail: only the very tip of the tail moves side to side...followed by about 4" moving more rapidly side to side, followed by the entire tail flaying madly from side to side making a very loud thump thump thump, finally the rest of the body joins the tail in pursuit of whatever has provoked the tip. Very hard to get a picture of this but all my cat friends KNOW the stance. 3. Trick tail: The amazing elastic tail when I sleep...the very tip serves as my beauty sleep mask. Madi and Mom

Madi gives up....

Madi: I'm so sorry you lost all my pictures stored on the 'puter, but please no more flashing light tonight. My eyes have glazed over.
'I give up' !!!!!

Mom: Thanks to everyone out in blog world for the suggestions of how I might retrieve my pictures....we're weighing our options. Main one being Mom's ability to carry out the instructions w/o totally ruining the 'puter.

Mom said to tell you she is an idiot!!!!

Somehow (we suspect serious operator error) Mom deleted all of the pictures of Me on the 'puter....she is very angry at herself. Once she stops beating herself on the head, she'll get busy building up another folder of pictures.

Today's picture is of a Crepe Myrtle tree in our neighbor's yard. It is very heat tolerant and loves July and August in NC.
