Saturday: Cat's Bill of Rights #11

I have the right to curse

at squirrels and other critters
that may dare to pass by my windows."

Especially the beady eyed ones!!!
Run, run as quick as you can before I have to come out
there and show you just who's deck this is.
Bill of Rights as stated in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Lovin' our Cat.

Thursday Theme Song

Madi and I thank Hootin' Anni for sponsoring Thursday Theme song...
Today's song is 'You are My Sunshine'..  It was written by Louisiana's former Governor Jimmie Davis
and Charles Mitchell copyright 1940.  It is one of the two official songs for the State of Louisiana
It is dedicated to our friends in Louisiana at Jacqueline's Cat House
There is a short video of the song at the end so that you will know the tune to the song.
Your are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You Make me happy, when skies are gray
You'll never know, dear how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
The other nite, dear
As I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my arms
When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken, and I hung my head and cried.

You are my sunshine
I'll always love you and make you happy
If you will only say the same , But if you leave me, to love another,
You'll regret it all some day
You told me once, dear you really loved me
And no one else could come between, but now you've left me, and love another
You have shattered all my dreams

Louisiana my Louisiana
the place where I was borne, white fields of cotton, green fields of clover, the
best fishing and long tall corn,
You are my sunshine my only sunshine,
crawfish gumbo and jambalaya, the biggest shrip and sugar cane, the finest oysters and sweet strawberries
from Toledo to New Orleans,
You are my sunshine my only sunshine

Tuesday Tocks

This is Madi's first Tuesday Tocks contribution.  As much as she complains about the flashy beast being in her face,...it seems to be hard to get a picture when she is not looking at the camera!!!  Yay I did it...I hope you enjoy her cute little tocks.  Whatever
you do not tell her this picture makes her tocks look thick!!!
She will pout.  A pouting Diva makes life unbearable.
Thank you,
Mom

MADI & MOM MEND ON MONDAY

Contrary to popular opinion, I, Madi, do not nap 24 hours a day.  I am very involved in helping Mom and Dad (remember I helped him with the recycling last week).  Today I'm helping Mom with her mending. The first thing we do is select thread for the project....I'm quite partial to gray, as you can see it matches me purrfectly.

I make sure Mom has the proper tools for the job

We discuss the exact method by which I think she can best accomplish the mending.
Then I let her 'try' to do this without my constant snoopervision.
Notice my nonchalant gaze out the window.
She normally does a pretty good job alone but I know she appreciates my help.
NOTE FROM MOM:  Madi really does feel it is her duty to check in on everything we do.  Curiousity really does keep her young.

Steeple(less) Sunday # 29

We happened upon The Church of the Apostles completely by surprise. It is part of the AMIA (Anglican Mission in America).  It is nestled behind the new section of North Hills Mall.  From the front it looks just like an office building.  As we drove around it, we found this lovely brick facade with a cross.
When I Googled this church I could not much about this church but we BET dollars to doughnuts Jack's Daddy can find something about Church of Apostles. He works magic when researching.  Everything Mom found links you to the AMIA.  Click here if you want to read about AMIA.  From what I could understand, it is similar to the Catholic church in the way they worship.  According the AMIA website they have 70 million members worldwide.

I could not find when it was built but it looks fairly new.

I thought the street name was rather interesting...could this be a sign that we are running out of street names?  I'm certainly glad I don't live on this street...that would be a lot to write everytime you had to complete a form.
