Thoroughly Thankful and Poetic Thursday #14

Today I'm joining the

Thankful Thursday hosted by

Today I'm very thankful for the wonderful word of dental technology.  The last crown I had many years ago took almost 3 weeks for it to be made.  Impressions made by the dentist then sent to a lab for the crown to be made.    Monday I had a 3 hour appointment. The worst part was about 45 minutes of drilling to get the old one off and preparing the tooth for the crown.  I admit to being quite tense during this process.  Work was on the lower back tooth and there may have been some gagging going on. LOL
I was tickled to learn the dentist would be making my crown in house no middle man aka lab.  They made several scans the area around the crown location.  A 3D image popped up on the screen. The scan is sent to the 'mill'.
Three hours later I had a new crown no return trips.
 Below info found on line:

Zirconia crowns are milled from a solid piece of zirconia. They are either finished with a top layer of porcelain, or finished in pure zirconia. As they are made from either a direct scan of your tooth, or a scan of a high accuracy impression, the resulting seal and fit is superior to that of a basic cast crownThis procedure took about 1 hour.   Crown is fitted and bit checked.  Then the crown is cemented and there is a special drying tool that is 'waved' over the crown to help cement dry.   Zirconia crowns are used most often in the back and upper part of the mouth.  Ceramic is used in front where the crown is visible.  Ceramic crowns are easy to match to the color of teeth.

In Purrsuit of Flavors on Wordless Wedness

Today I'm hopping on two events

Of course my post is not wordless...but that has never stopped me in the past.

Hosted by Comedy Plus

and

hosting.

Da Twins and Da Canadian Cats have selected
Youthful Yummies

One of my absolutely most yummy youthful memories  is making bananas splits with my Daddy, who by the way was King of anything banana.  I don't have any photos except in My Mind's Eye.  I borrowed a photo from the internet.  It is very close to the one's I remember

Bananas used were just bought that day. Skin was nice and yellow w/o any hint of bruising.

We had every known topping for a perfect banana split with a cherry on top.  Candied nuts and cherries, all kinds of ice cream, runny strawberry topping, Reddi-wip cream in the can, chocolate sauce warmed just enough to make it run down into all the crooks and crannies of the gastronomical dessert.

Of course we had to squirt a generous portion in our mouths several times.

Daddy also had his own way of making a banana sandwich.  Most folks would put mayo on white bread, slice the banana and call it done.
Daddy said the bananas fell out making a mess.  He would slice all the banana in large pieces in to a bowl.  Add mayo to them and mash with a folk.  Once the consistency was perfect, he spread it on the bread.  Magically you had a banana sandwich that was not messy.

Tuesday This and That

I have an 8 am dental appointment today.  The 25+ year old crown that came loose last Monday has to be replaced.  Today there will be a 3 hour appt to remove old crown that was temporarily put back in last week, prepare the tooth for impressions to be sent to the lab. I'll be back tomorrow.

A follow up to a post on March 28, 2021

This photo was originally posted as "our favorite house" several of you asked about the sign on the stone wall to the right of the gate.  Saturday, April 3 we drove by the house to get a look at the sign.

Here is a close up.

Sunday Bunnies Flashbacks and Kat and Rocky Selfie

Top Left:
Soon after Angel Madi was confident we do as staff,  her Dad started calling her his
Bonsai Bunny.  She and Peter Cottontail were deep in thought.
Remaining photos: Petunia Bunny.  She lived in our yard for several months.
We think she had baby bunnies under the deck.  Bottom left she was resting under the deck.
bottom right Petunia had a fondness for our Petunias thus her name.

Flash back with Favorite Sis of Angel Madi:

When favorite sis of Angel Madi was about four years old, a local mall decided to have a Bunny for the Kids to talk to like they did Santa.  Sis of Angel Madi was so excited....she loved bunnies...and really wanted to go talk to the bunny. We rounded the corner to see a life size bunny with a giant head and ears about 2' long.  She took one look at that giant bunny.   Turned around, ran away screaming don't let that bunny in my house.
There were assumptions made by her parents that she would
understand it was big.  We told her it was like going to see Santa.
Sometimes you can give a child too much information and sometimes NOT ENOUGH...this was one of the 'NOT ENOUGH' times
Needless to say no photos were taken.
