Nature Friday and Feline Friday with my Nephews

Hosted by LLB Gang

Turkey Vulture is not a very pretty name for what I discovered to be a very pretty and colorful bird. Red face, yellow beak and red legs.  We spotted a pair while right at the Crabtree Creek Trail on March 23.

I zoomed in on the photo before posting; however, you can still biggify it

for a closer look

The turkey vulture received its common name from the resemblance of the adult's bald red head and its dark plumage to that of the male wild turkey, while the name "vulture" is derived from the Latin word vulturus, meaning "tearer", and is a reference to its feeding habits.[9]

In Collage above the bottom left bottom shows both one just landed on a limb the other about to land

I thank our hostess Comedy Plus

Email and Photos sent Wednesday March 31, 2021 while my nephews and their
peeps were sitting at the Mississippi Welcome center.

The weather has been frightful today. We’ve had torrential rain, intense lightning/thunder, and wind.

Pup, who’s terrified by thunder, stayed in his copilot position until we decided to wait out the storms in Mississippi Welcome Center.

I hope you can see this video it is adorable Kat is giving Rocky a very soothing bath.

Mom rode in the bedroom with Rocky and me. The little fellow hates thunder too, so I tried my best to calm and comfort him.
Being a big brother is a huge responsibility, but I’m up to the task. 😻

❤️ Kat

Dearest nephews...dagnabbit to the weather.  March has been a most rude guest. I'm ready to kick her to the curb.  Kat what a darling dear brother you are to Rocky...I can see from the video that he is on alert but calm.
Sending lots of purrs for better weather Very very soon.
Lovingly your Auntie HiC

Thoroughly Thankful Poetic Thursday #13

Today I'm joining the

Thankful Thursday hosted by

Monday, I mentioned an unexpected dental visit due to a crown popping loose.  I'm thankful my dentist has an 8:30 am appt for emergency.  Thankful that I didn't swallow the crown, thankful the Xrays indicated main issue with the crown was age, thankful that he was able to temporarily put it back in place (because that sucker was SENSITIVE to everything). I have an appt April 6, 2021, to start the process for a new crown to be made.

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS

Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is our inspiration

Oh boy I'd do that in a heart beat MAYBE several times..!!!

This is a BIG APRIL FOOL's

First let me just say this photo made this ditzy gal dizzy.  Since I can say with 100% certainty, I would never do this, these words made from heights express what my mind's eye sees:

HELP
Elevated blood pressure
Incredibly scary
Great googly gook I can't look
Hide
Traumatic
Sorry no can do

Below is a picture  (about 6 years ago) of my brave hubby just before he started across. In my younger days, I did go across the bridge but not any more.
Note the young girl trying to steady herself.
I'm told the bridge is actually a suspension bridge...my husband said he didn't feel any swinging...you can read about the bridge here

Wordless Wednesday Q&A and News from my Nephews

Rare Sighting one goose without another in anywhere to be seen.

Question:

Answer:
Your flock might be lost in the fog

PS Breaking news hot off the download

My nephews and their peeps had a very successful first day on the road.
Rocky handled the trip surprisingly well.  He enjoyed watching the world fly by from the RV.

Kat and Pup are seasoned road runners.
Yesterday morning after first light he did a little bird watching, Rocky spied an egret!!

Happy Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Photos

Hosted by Comedy Plus

Normally I like photos at Shelley Lake when the skies are blue and the sun shining.  This one was taken on a less than what I thought would be 'perfect day'!  It is SOOTC (straight out of the camera). I did frame it via LunaPic.  There as so many things in the photo that make me happy. The reflections are amazing.  The surprise of the tree limb with balls on it upper left and the twigs bottom right.

This is how much sun we had that day

Last Wednesday BERTIE my WFT buddy had a post here
that a lady asked Gail if she could take a photo of Bertie saying how handsome he was.
Bertie said: Gail wonders whether, in the history of the universe, any proud dog owner has ever refused when someone comes up, praises your dog's looks and asks to take his photo!
Saturday I met Dublin the King Charles Cavalier.  I asked permission his owner said absolutely
Dublin is a charmer.  I took a ride by selfie of the handsome pup on the right. He looks like and Golden Retriever but he was all blonde.

Awww Monday and Sparks: Observation

Each time I see these rings on the N.C. Museum of Art Trail,  I'm always surprised at how how different the look at different times of the day.

On a recent trek around the trail they caught my mind's eye so quickly

I almost miss seeing a new guy on the Trail....

Here is a close up!!
Yep this itty bitty green toy Dinosaur was trekking too.  If it was left on purpose to make folks smile, it was a success.  Keep your mind's eye open and always on alert for the unexpected.

Last night while brushing and flossing my teeth a very old crown came loose.

Thankfully I did not swallow it.  Waiting for my dentist to open at 8am.

Sunday Selfie..one of our very favorite Houses in Raleigh

Gorgeous slate roof
House constructed of stone
Built in 1940

Entire property surrounded by a beautiful stone wall

This home is in a section of the city where homes are inherited, not sold.
