won·der: noun a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar or inexplicable.

Please allow me to explain the back story to this post

I retired from N. C. State University. I loved every minute of my employment in three different departments
1. Broughton Hall:  Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
2. Dabney Hall:  Chemistry Department
3. Cox Hall, Physics*
4 1/2 years before I retired my Physics office moved to Centennial Campus

For several months I have been purging, merging and donating things I no longer need.  One of  the things I found  was definitely a surprise.  A soap  container with my name and office #on it.  This made my mind's eye wonder why in the world did I take a soap container  to my office in Cox Hall*.

I wondered about it a bit; however,  the rest of the story is I have no idea. It was inexplicable. The only containers I ever put my name on were lunch containers in the kitchen refrigerator. Surely I never took food in a soap container.

The Golden Rods are blooming everywhere.  A sure sign of spring,

As we approached our parked car, I saw the shadows and heard a little friend tweeting at me.

    Thoroughly Poetic Thursday#107

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy

    Here is today's inspiration

This probably doesn't qualify as a poem..

Just things My Mind's Eye remembers.

Back in the late 1950's early 1960's
    My parents and I went
to the drive in theater most weekends.
This picture gave my mind's eye many images.
There was a playground in front of the big screen with all kinds of fun awaiting just like below.

I have images and feelings that I'll share.

    Warm nights
Cars in rows on our left and right
Speakers attached to the car windows
The entire night was a delight
Before the movie we went to the
Snack bar  there were so many choices
candy, soft drinks, popcorn, hot dogs
    and soft swirl Ice Cream.
    Deciding was hard

There were cartoons before the movies
There were always two movie features.
One for children was shown first and one for the adults was last.  Most children were asleep in the back seat. My mom always had a pillow and blanket
    And I always fell asleep.

    Thank you to our

    Happy Tuesday Dearest Auntie HiC

    GUESS WHAT

    Exciting News!!!!
We took an RV road trip to Johnson City, TN & I bought a car!  We left the felines at home, teeheehee!

Actually, the peeps bought a used Kia Soul to tow behind the RV. We’ve always towed Dad’s little pickup, and there’s no room for me to ride along once we’re camping.
I can’t wait to get on the road again!

    ❤️ Pup

    Dearest Pup
Auntie is so happy she is EmojiEmojiEmojiand clapping.
OMDs...and I'm humming "On the Road AGAIN"!!
What fun family memories you 5 will make.
I understand that Kat and Rocky would not want to
ride a gazillion hours one day in the car so it was best to leave them home.
BUT the good news is I know you brought lots of smell mail home with you.
I bet they had a sniff-afari when you got home.
THANK YOU For such a fun post and handsome photo of you and your staff and the new (to you) car
    Lovingly

    Your Devoted Auntie HiC

for all you kind and loving comments.
Stay tuned from reports from the R O A D

Awww Monday with Kat and his Dad

     Thank you to our

    Host Comedy Plus

    AWWWWW

    Deareast Auntie HiC

Ever since Dad's stroke, he falls asleep immediately after sitting down in his recliner.

I’ve observed Pup demonstrating this same behavior while he sleeps. Mom says Rocky & I do it too!

We feel obligated to tell our friends that Mom has some
    rather odd sleeping habits too
Mom says we twitch & jerk while sleeping, but she makes interesting (embarrassing) sound effects! 😹😹😹

I stay close to Dad while he’s napping. I think it’s a comfort to him❣️

    ❤️ Kat

    Dearest Kat

     OMCs.

First Auntie has a question:  did you recently groom or did mom brush your furs looking all kinds of soft and lush.  And what a devoted and attentive ‘friend Dad has in you’…please thank him for pawticipating in the making of this video👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️…it is precious‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️💙🌻
Oh I do think you boyz and Dad need to take a video of mom taking a catnap
    Lovingly your Auntie HiC

    Sunny Selfies and Reflections

We've had lots of rain lately.  Some of the low areas at
Wooten Meadow Park are now reflecting pools.

    Speaking of Sun(rise).....
