THURSDAY (un)Teaser!!!

Mom and I were thrilled to be guest TEASERS on
Sammy's Tuesday Teaser!!
click here to see it if you missed it.

I'm thrilled accept my Guest Teaser badge!!

Mom sent Sammy's assistant some their photos from their vacation to Grandfather Mountain, NC on July 14-17, 2015.
Congrats to Cody and Caren for being the first correct guessers.

Now we'd like to share the rest of our vacay photos with you all!!
Mom will provide commentary..warning she is
Long winded!!

Taken from the car Grandfather Mountain is in the distance.
It is called Grandfather mountain because from a distance it looks
like and old man with a beard, sleeping, with hands folded on chest.
You can read more here .  Hubby says it is a stretch for him to visualize it. LOL

By the time we arrived...the weather changed drastically.
At the park entrance we were told the top of the mountain was closed due to
70 mph winds....bad news...but the good news was we got in for 1/2 price.
After walking around and having lunch, the top opened.
BUT it was stillllllll very very windy.  I've never been in 70 mph wind but  the wind up
there was rough!!  I have been on the mile high bridge on a sunny calm day and once across I was afraid to go back to the other side...BUT I had to do it to get off the mountain.
I decided not to walk it this trip due to conditions.
Below is a picture of my brave hubby just before he started across.
Note the young girl trying to steady herself.
I'm told the bridge is actually a suspension bridge...my husband said he didn't feel any swinging...

Same young girl taking a shot of the storm clouds.  It never rained...probably because the wind blew the clouds to Tennessee.

From way up on top of the mountain look who I spotted.   Stanley one of our Mayorz!!
I tried to get down to give him a hug but alas I missed him.

Two more beautiful photos from a top Grandfather's observatory deck
In case you haven't figured it out...hubby and I love the beautiful North Carolina Mountains
I love the shades of green
From 1966-1993 Mildred the Bear was the official Mascot and well loved
attraction at the bear facility.  She had several cubs.  I had this photo up shortly after our
vacation but with out the plaque honoring Mildred's life.
CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE BLACK BEARS AND OTHER
ANIMAL EXHIBITS

Here are some photos of the bears now living in the the beautiful facility
Every day at 11 the bears have an enrichment session with their
keepers.  This one knows what is coming...so his tongue is ready...

large plastic lids covered in jelly are dropped in their facility.  This one landed upside down
but in a nanosecond the jelly side was showing and the jelly gone
THIS BEAR CRACKED ME UP..I HAD NO IDEA THEY HAD WHITE ON THEIR CHEST

there is an Eagle enclosure...the Eagles are were injured at some point but cannot survive in the wild.

There was also a cougar exhibit...but in true feline fashion they CHOSE not to be seen...
their enrichment time was 1 pm... we all know cats only do things that benefit them.
It was so cold and windy up there we left way before then.
So here is a photo of my favorite wild cat
One day we had lunch here....our friends live in the
Yadkin Valley Wine Country of North Carolina

The vineyard had gorgeous iron work all around the property.

IF YOU ARE STILL AWAKE, WE THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY...
A GOOD VACATION WAS HAD BY ALL
I THANK MADI FOR ALLOWING ME TO TAKE OVER HER BLOG TODAY.

Tuesday Tale: Breakfast of Champions

I supervise Mom's breakfast every single morning....
you know it is the most impawtant meal of the day.  It is even better when shared with a loved one.
At least that is WHAT I think!!

Mom thinks I'm there to EAT her Cheerios. She needs
a refresher course in sharing. Since my tummy issues earlier this year she has become stingy with her Cheerios.  She used to share the  little O's saturated with milk.
NO MORE

Please note the green and pink arrows pointing to my former breakfast spot.  As you can see, it is now occupied by bowl of apples. I liked the left side because mom  (is right pawed).  She can also rub me while she tries eats, share the O's and  play Words with Friends with her left paw.  She might need another left paw.
I keep telling her no barriers are Feline proof
I have moved to the right side.  I almost sit on top of her right paw
and every so often I head bump her hand..making the little O's and milk cascade right to my paw tips!!
