Feline Friday featuring Kat and Rocky

Mom has not been without a canine companion since she was in the 4th grade. 😞
As an only child, with no children, and  parents deceased,  Mom’s doggos were always paramount to her
happiness & mental health.
It’s been a dark time for her (all of us) since we lost Pup four months (May 29, 2023) ago today.
😢

While running errands yesterday, Mom ran into a dear friend, who asked how she’s managing without a doggo.
Mom replied, “My dogs will always be in my heart, but I’m a crazy cat lady now!” 😹
To all you wonderful Dog Moms out there, please hug your pups for us everyday❣️

Did you know all grooming often ends with wrestling? We did! 😹

Dearest nephews Auntie would like to say the following for Final Feature Friday for September

Dearest Kat, Rocky and Angel Pup
Auntie is a firm believer paying tribute to those who came before us and how they shaped our lives. All the the pups before you, left a golden pathway to Mom and Dad's hearts for you three precious beings.

Auntie HiC is a avid reader as is your Mom.  A good book consists of settings, beautiful characters, drama, kindness, deep and true love. How you three, individually, find your way from your mysterious beginnings to the tippy top of Georgia mountains to your furever home has all the makings of the purrfect love story. Three furry beings finding a home with the most amazing humans. All of you accepting of each other, opening your hearts to new experiences forgetting the past ones.  There were so many questions about each of you. All answered, with love and devotion from humans to you and from you three to each other. My mind says, Pup's life was too short. My heart knows, Pup's life was lived in total joy. I  felt this way  about each of my pets.  Our pets never live long enough.   I know they lived each day full of joy, love, safety, warmth and full tummies.

Sending lots love to you four and all our fury friends and their  guardians.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #137

Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy

Here is today's photo.

I decided to write about Broccoli!!

When I was a child (in the stone ages), broccoli was only sold in a box.

It was as hard as a rock*

Mama cooked it until it was NOT*.

She cooked it and cooked it 'til it was no longer green

It was so mushy it made me want to scream

I expect I made this very same face.

Oh how happy I was to finally see it freshly displayed

in the produce case.  I learned to steam it

to perfection and color to please my  eyes and taste.

Happy Tuesday Trek

Thank you to our

 Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

There is a new multipurpose development being built on the former property of Peden Steel
click here to read about Peden Steel

The former factory in Raleigh – a warehouse that built munitions during World War I and fabricated steel for buildings and monuments around the city.

The structure's steel bones date back to the late 1800s. When it was originally located in the Warehouse District in downtown.

It was moved it to its new location along Atlantic Ave. in the 1950s

Now, it's coming back to life as Raleigh Iron Works.

We had fun wandering around.  There will be lots of interesting shops and cafes

On TV news they indicated it was open for business so we took a field trip on the last Monday in August.   All the signs on the shop windows said Opening Spring 2023.
They might need to revise the signs.  There were only two places open for business both cafe's.  Both had hours posted Tuesday-Saturday.  Well go back to have a sandwich at
Sandwich Uptopia.  The menu looked quite unique delicious.

The new area gave us lots of
HAPPY
when we saw how much of the original steel structure they are using from the original Building.
This swing is made from steel from the original building.

Yes the swing really swings too.
Below is old steel made into border with stones in it.  This is located around the parking lot.

Now for more photos we took as we walked around.  All the store fronts had signs:  "Opening Spring 2023"  We were there in late August.

I thought about going down the slide...'thought'...
#1 reason I didn't IT WAS WET
#2 reason I didn't the landing was a bit tricky for and OLD gal.  My  knee that would have been quite UNHAPPY
I am 5'3 1/2" so that is a really big culvert.

If you missed Saturday Symmetry on Sept 23, see below sneak peep.
Raleigh Iron Works multipurpose area opening soon.

Please Come back on Happy Tuesday, September 26th  to read all about this

Awww Monday and Sparks and Reminder FFF

 Thank you to our

Host Comedy Plus

Lana and Ernie told me about a fall treat they discovered.
Limited edition of Pumpkin and Spice Cheerios.
I have been searching high and low.  You would think in a city the size of Raleigh I could find them BUT NOPE!!!
  I love Cheerios dearly.

On Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 3pm I found a box on my front porch FROM Ernie Price...this was inside was

Dearest Ernie my most adorable Attorney....words seem hardly adequate to thank you for your kind, thoughtful and most cherished gift that I just found on my front porch.  Bless your Cheerio-ful heart, all the way down your itty bitty Dachshund body from the tip of your black nose to your wavy, curly furs, including your well manicured toesies to the tip of your feathery tail.  Please thank your chauffer Lana and Joy the Jeep for taking you to the post office.

Angel Madi loved Cheerios.  I'm sure she is dancing on cloud 9.
Sincerely grateful for your friendship.
Hugs to you
Cecilia
