Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday with Sammy

Today's post is brought to you by the letter
W

Today we are going to "TRY" to write about....

Whiskers
Can be long, short, curly and prickly.
I once had a friend who was called Mr. Whiskers...he was not picky,
My whiskers are well known and have been shown
disguised as an antenna on a railroad.

My whiskers are long not curly they sprout from my jowls
and my browse.

Dad has whiskers that can be rather prickly.
It has been my life's work to snoopervise his morning routine.
As he shaves his whiskers I by sit on the potty lid.
At the Blogville Awesome Retreat in June my dad realized his
Edge whisker cream was running low
My friends Frankie, Ernie and the Crabby Girls heard this, they said OH NO....
It became their mission to remedy this omission
They stop at the drug store they looked high and low and finally
the Crabby girls clacked their claws with delight...
they found just what they wanted Nieva cream.
It is smooth and creamy and goes on just right.
And when he kisses his girls at night...
they squeal with delight!!

Side note:  Photo above was the first time I snoopervised Dad
with the new cream.
Dad used the same shaving cream (Edge) for 87 years.
I was amazed he would try something new!!

TMfMM*

*Tuesday Mews from Manor Madi
ps this was gonna be Monday Mews but regular MMfMM was  preempted.
Subtitle Matthew
Sub-subtitle: Tree Rats
This is how I spent the morning of November 5...
(and FYI:  I told Dad I'd sit on the check until he was sure he was happy with the tree rats work!
Now for the rest of the story
As everyone remembers in early October, Hurricane Matthew huffed and puffed and blew sideways crazy rain here at Manor Madi. Matthew was not invited and not a welcomed guest.
Thank goodness out house did not blow away but
Matthew blew the very tippy top limb out of the top  of a
ginormous maple tree.  Thank goodness the limb fell
in the middle of the tree  but was hanging on by a small piece of wood.....NOT ON Manor Madi

The peeps called our tree rats immediately but they were so
very busy removing trees off homes etc they asked if we could
wait for a few weeks.  Of course when the tree rats come here
we have to document it.  In the below photo they are getting
their ropes out and putting on their tree rat gear.
The red arrow below is pointing to a tiny orange dot
that is one of the tree rats helmets
The blue arrow is the rope he is taking up to the tippy top of the
tree to tie around the limb
Below are the tree rats ground crew waiting to guide
the limb down safely
We were happy to get this limb down it was dead and the peeps
wanted it down before the cold winds of winter or ice and snow arrived.
The End!!

PS...on Gas Log service man, yesterday's post...
Many of you said yesterday how how refreshing that someone actually did their job well.  On top of telling the Gas Log service tech how impressed they were sit his service, she also mailed a letter to the Gas Company human resources department telling them how pleased they were. He told my peeps he liked what he did, and that he was trained to clean the logs at every visit.  Hopefully the letter will be put in his personnel file and maybe one day he'll get a nice promotion.

Tuesday Tale:

RECENTLY I WAS IN DREAM LAND BASKING IN MY WHITE THRONE
WHEN I WAS RUDELY AWAKENED BY THE DING DONG...I barely had a
chance to gather my thoughts when a nice Man from PSNC (Public Service of NC)
came to inspect our gas logs and fireplace.

Oh my cats he was the best service person ever. He took the top logs outside to give the a good cleaning.  We've had gas logs for 20+ years.  No one has ever done that.

I ran up the stairs lickety split just in case he decided to clean me too.
