Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #36

My Ginger Nephew Rocky says
THANKFUL THURSDAY Message.

''

Rocky here! I want to thank you, and all our wonderful blog furiends for the heart-warming comments about my incredible news. The past 4 months have been stressful, and your encouraging, kind comments have been greatly appreciated.
I went back to vet Tuesday for my last round of vaccinations, including Feline Leukemia. I was a good boy.

I’m so happy to be FeLV negative, I can’t contain my excitement. 😹

Dearest sweet Ginger nephew!
OMC Kat has claimed you as his.  I know for a fact he only washes the faces of those he loves.  I expect once you two fall into a routine and you are comfy you will be washing his face!

Lovingly your auntie HiC❤️💋🥰👏🏻‼️

In PURRsuit of Flavors and Wordless Wednesday

I thank Da Phenny and Chef Shoko for
hosting.

Today's PURRsit is supposed to be a sheet pan meal
As always, in my world, rulez are a suggestion..
1.This is not a sheet pan but it is kinda flat...
2. You could make a meal out of this cranberry cornbread
slathered in buttah!!

Cranberry Orange Cornbread
1 navel orange
2 large eggs
1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 cup yellow stone ground corn meal
(it did not indicate plain or self rising, I used self rising which I always have
plenty of)
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 cup fresh cranberries, mom used dried.
Directions:
1.Heat oven to 375, coat a 8"x4" loaf pan with cooking spray
2. Grate zest from 1/2 of the orange into a large bowl. Cute the orange in half and squeeze all the juice. Whisk in eggs, buttermilk, oil, sugar, brown sugar, and salt until blended.  Scatter 4 teaspoons of baking powder over the top of this mixture, let it stand until foamy, about 3 minutes.
3. Stir together cornmeal, flower and cranberries, add them to wet ingredients, stirring just until batter is almost free of lumps.
4. Spoon into loaf pan, bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, ~ 35 to 40 minutes, Cool on a rack.
Tip: if you cannot find cranberries you may use fresh blueberries or raspberries.

Hosted by Comedy Plus

Oh one thing...mom has given me a middle name Greg(arious).  Something to do with
all the 'talking' I did on this trip.
Sincerely Rocky Greg(arious)

Happy Tuesday Tushy Tale

Dearest Aunty HiC
Quick update on Rocky. He was pretty  “zoned out” for a couple days post-op, but he’s back to normal now.  😻

I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve decided I want to use the beautiful
mat you made.
Yes, I’m allowed on counters, but the tile was chilly on my tushy. 😹
Mom folded it and I’m a perfect fit.
Thank you again! 😽

❤️ Kat Your Feline Nephew

Dearest Nephew Kat...I cannot, in my wildest dreams, think of a BETTTTTTTER use for that mat than to have your precious tushy on it!!!  It makes me so very happy to know this.   OF COURSE YOU ARE ON THE COUNTERS...MADI WAS A COUNTER SURFER TOO, and SHE GOT ON THE TABLE. In fact, we knew every surface in the house was her.  We were grateful that she let us use some of the surfaces. It is a known fact Cats go where they wanna go and if they don't wanna go they DON'T.  I love your precious little raspberry tongue.
Uncle is gonna love these photos.
Ask mom to give you a kissy and of course Pup and Rocky

Lovingly your Aunty HiC

My apologies if I missed visiting yesterday.
Between Friday night and 6am Saturday morning
aliens invaded our WiFi.  Thank goodness Valerie, the best Geek at Geek Squad, figured out
what was up.  Some how our WiFi went MIA
Then I checked my cell phone to find it had been invaded by aliens who wiped out all my
contacts. Cell provider could not find them so I had to rebuild contact list.
This type of thing is what scares me about the world's growing dependency on technology
