FRACTURED FRYDAY HAIRY TAILS AND FLOWERS

  FFHT!!! FROM THIS DAY FORWARD
WE THANK OUR HOSTS AND CREATORS OF THE DAY
MURPHY AND STANLEY
They give us a phrase to use for a hairy tail
The phrase has to be somewhere in our story.
Today's phrase is

"When I opened the box I was startled to find......."

The magic word in this phrase is box...I am a box-a-holic
I see a box and I must have it and I must inspect it.
So are you ready for my story, it will be
a tad reversed...that is called creative license.

Once upon a time in the not too distant past...
I meandered into the family room to find a most wonderful box (no clue what came in it). It was a purrfect fit... I was having so much fun

Mom decided to put it up on the table for a photo shoot
Evidently it was all kinds of wonderful and a ton of fun to jump in and out of...Mom even managed some pretty darn good action shots
I wasn't even bother both the packing stuffs she left in it.

It was the best box...I just had to know where it came from,
who it was for and what was in it when mom opened it.

As you can see on my face,
When I found out what was in the box I was
STARTLED!!!

It was a high powered thingie that goes on the end of your garden hose to help reach high places that need to be clean on the house.

Today I'm joining my long time gal pal Dory from

Happy Friday one and all...

More flowers from the Louis Ginter Botanical Gardens in
Richmond, VA.  Louis Ginter (1824-1897) was a prominent businessman, Army officer and philanthropist.

Angels and Friends

On July 3rd Mom went to visit her friend
Anita and to meet Anita's grandson
Graeme....I didn't go but I heard Graeme is
a most handsome 9 mo old and he smells good.
I wish I could have sniffed him.
Anyway Ms. Anita and mom worked together at NCSU and  have been friends over 25 years.

Anita gave mom a most cherished Willow Tree
angel figurine.  It is called Remembrance
It was given for many reasons.  Mom named her
Anita....because Anita is such a special friend.
I like this angel she smells so good.

She has a tiny gold heart on her chest too.
This is a picture of two angels on earth.
Angels Anita and Madi
Anita reads our blog every day so we just want to officially
say THANK YOU again for this lovely Remembrance
Angel.

Thankfully I have never met a plate of food I didn't like...
and my Vet said this brand was most tasty and he was right
Thanks Dr. Szabo the bestest vet I know!!

Sorry no pictures of me eating my new kibble....
Mom says I eat faster than she can click the picture
As you can see there is no difference in size and evidently

Monday Mews:OR how my weekend started

This picture was taken at 1:00 pm Friday 7/18/14!!!
I was minding my own beeswax not bothering anyone when.....

all of a sudden I'm stuffed in my PTU what a rude
awakening...no warning nothing just lady-handled
and treated like a stuffed sausage!!
Still in shock I found myself strapped into Gracie, the Highlander
on the way to.......THE VET
Without consulting with me... mom arranged my Senior Kitty Wellness exam for 1:30 7/18/14
No warning, no consideration for my afternoon nap
NADA

I tried all the tricks I knew to get back into my PTU
but alas I did not have the magic word
A very nice lady came in the door..
She stroked my furs and said OH MY GOODNESS
your fur is like a chinchilla...which is a small rodent...
I started to bite her until   Mom told me the chinchilla was valued for its luxurious furs.
I decided not to bite the nice lady...I meow a thank you!!
My vet's office is full of purrty pictures.
Thankfully the entire visit over in no time...(report at the end)
but when I got home I noticed my white chest was wet

from where their stole my blood and it smelled disgusting...

I had to lick and lick and lick
I thought my tongue was going to fall out!!
Still cleaning vet cooties off 3 hours
after her appt.  Madi does not like unapproved odors on her furs!!

NOW FOR THE STATS:
for my 12.5 year old check up
Weight: 10.1 lbs...woohoo I lost  a few ounces since last year.  Dr. S likes for me to be under 11
Eyes, Ears and Teeth:  A+
HEART: BEATING nicely
PURR: A+
No lumps, bumps or bugs
No arthritis
Furs: soft, fluffy, shiny and clean and feels like a chinchilla MOL
Rabies vaccine:  boo but at least it was quick
Senior blood panel:  All in all it was good.
Dr. S said I had an itty bitty elevation in one of my kidney enzymes. The other was normal.  He gave mom Two options:
1)gradually acclimating me to Purnia Senior, which has less protein, by mixing it with my current kibble and recheck my blood in 6 months OR 2) gradually acclimating me to NF RX Purina, (which has purrfect balance for senior kidneys) by mixing it with my current kibble (until that is gone). She also bought a can of NF RX Purina to see if I liked it. Mom said she wanted be proactive (big word $5.00 for  to nip this enzyme thing in the bud) so she decided on option 2.  THANKS to Senior blood panels...this quirky enzyme thingie was caught very early. This was my first ever issue (and not uncommon for a 12.5 year old Diva Cougar Cat)  so you can bet your bottom dollar Mom will be taking me in every 6 mos to have by blood panel checked.

Please drop by tomorrow on Tasty Tuesday to see how I like my new Purina NF RX Diet...hint there is lip smacking...

Shine On

I would like to thank my GUY Raz and his sisters
Allie and Ellie for this award

Here are the rules:

1. Visit and thank the blogger who nominated you.
2. Acknowledge that blogger on your blog and link back.
3. Share 7 random facts about yourself.

Here are  7 random facts about Madi and Mom:

1. Madi:  Raz was the first mancat to ever officially asked me on a date...he even took me to space and back.
Below is our latest Memory Collage as of 7/17/14

2. Mom:  When she was a wee kitten, she ate an entire stick of real butter. Nowadays her she doesn't eat
real butter but she does love Brummel and Brown margarine made with yogurt!!!

3. Madi:  Is the only member of the family who was not born in Raleigh....she was born in Cary, NC

4: Mom:  In 1973 Mom stuck a tiny crochet hook (used for making doilies) in her thumb when she was trying to put a hole in the sandal strap of a little girl visiting my human sis.  Mom had to hold the sandal with her free hand so that it would not dangle and make the hook move...it was attached to the crochet hook in Mom's thumb.  Sis had just turned 3 but she knew her numbers....Mom told her Dad's work phone number...Sis called Dad and said "hey Daddy Mommy is hurt".  Then Sis hung up!!! MOL MOL Sis was supposed to put the phone to Mom's ear. Dad was about 30 minutes away so he called our neighbor  2 doors away to go to our house.  Our neighbor took mom, the floppy sandal, my sis and the visitor to the ER!!!  They had to cut the hook out of Mom's thumb. Crazy ER doctor asked mom if she wanted the hook...Heck no Mom said!!  When she got home, she threw all the doily hooks away.

5: Madi: One Friday last Spring when mom was sorting through clothes to take to North Raleigh Mission...I wanted to help so I followed mom in and out of the closets....but she didn't know.  When Mom finished, she and Dad went out to supper....not knowing I was in the closet.   When she got home she finally missed me...could not find me in my usual places. So she started bellowing as she walked around the house.  She kept hearing a knock, knock...it was me jumping against the closet door. Now I announce myself when I'm 'helping'!!

6: Mom: Is proud to be my assistant

7: Madi: When Mom and Dad went to Alaska in 2005 I gained nearly 2 lbs in 11 days.  Mom said my sitter must have been heavy handed filling up my kibble bowl.  Thankfully Mom watched my diet  like a hawk until my next Vet appt...and I was able to get back to my ideal weight...which is 10.75 lbs.

Thanks Raz, Allie and Ellie for this shiny award...
