Saturday Symmetry from vacation and Stitches update

Another splendid view of the Blue Ridge Mountains

One of the activities during vacation was to attend a play at the Barter Theater in Abingdon, VA
Love was all around us.

Hosted by
YAM Aunty click here to see her handwork

Thanks to YAM for fueling my urge to crochet

True confession I did not crochet any squares the first 3 weeks of September.  Below is a photo of
what I've completed thus far.  I took 4 out of the line up.
The squares were 7" but due to heavier yarn and stitches I used the squares were too large.
I am currently working to replace them.

Dear Auntie HiC

Dean Koontz said, “Once you have had a wonderful dog, a life without one is a life diminished.”

Buddy was adopted when Mom volunteered at the local animal shelter. One look into his eyes & Mom knew he was going home with her❣️

Buddy loved riding on the pontoon boat.

I loved Buddy, too!

They always take a piece of our heart. 💔

❤️ Kat

Dearest Kat...OMDsOMCs you were so very lucky to be loved by Buddy and I know he loved you

Happy Tuesday with Cali and Dad

We thank our Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

Dear Auntie HiC,
To say I have Daddy wrapped around my little paw would be an understatement! 😹
You know he was the one first one to see me when the Cat Distribution System delivered me to The Hill July, 2024. I worked my magic on him!

I like to sit on the back of his chair.

Daddy sings this song to me because I’m the epitome of perfection. ❣️😻❤️

Awww Monday: day 1 and 2 vacation

 Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

Thank you

The first day of our vacation (9/8) was spent with our dear friends Sally and Gary at their home in Yadkin County, NC
Both are retired teachers.  Gary has a small vineyard.  Pictured below. At the end of September, he has a pick your own event.  Folks come from all over for his grapes.

The second day of vacation (9/9) we four hopped in their car...drove ~2 1/2 hours southwest to Abingdon, VA. In July, we purchased tickets to see a Play at the Barter Theater~~

We selected Murder for Two...OMCs was it an excellent choice too.

Stage
Play was 1:45 minutes no intermission!!

MURDER FOR TWO

Book by Kellen Blair and Joe Kinosian, Lyrics by Kellen Blair, Music by Joe Kinosian

SEPTEMBER 5TH - NOVEMBER 2ND AT BARTER'S SMITH THEATRE

The perfect blend of music, mayhem and murder! In this hilarious 90-minute show, 2 performers play 13 roles — not to mention the piano — in a witty and winking homage to old-fashioned murder mysteries. Called “ingenious” by The New York Times, Murder for Two is definitely a must-see!

The description said: "A musical Comedy to Die For"
a Cast of Two and let me say these two young men were all kinds of talented.  Beautiful voices and both played piano.  At times they played the piano at the same time in crazy positions, standing, kneeling on bench and over each other.
Zacchaeus Kimbrell* (on right) and Jacob Nuti* (on left)
*Click on names to read about them
Jacob was the local police investigating 'said murder' at a birthday party.
Zacchaeus played 6 different guests at the party.  He seamlessly transition into each character...w/o a wardrobe change.  He changed his voice, mannerisms and walking.

This play started off a bit slow; however, within about 10 minutes it was rip roaring funny, entertaining we 4 were mesmerized by the talentThey had two standing ovations and and two finale musicals!!
***************
A real life event, happened in the row in front of us.
Out of nowhere an itty bitty spider came from above.
He traveled perfectly down his itty bitty single web between two men in front of us...then it quietly walked on the shoulder of the man in front of me...disappearing.  I thought I was the only one who saw it.  After the play, Sally asked if I saw it.  Thankfully we didn't make eye contact when we saw it because I know we would have giggled uncontrollably.

Sunday Flashback September 21, 2010

Madi always sat on my left side at breakfast...

Madi: I take my coffee black...How about you?

A few weeks ago during the "Oops I ate it" blogs, my entry stated
Madi's love of coffee....well she doesn't actually drink
coffee she loves to LICK our cups. Everyone seemed a bit surprised
so we thought we'd show you exactly how she accomplishes this ritual.......

First she keeps a watchful eye on her peeps so that
she knows when to make her move. Once the coast is clear....

She takes a sniff to be sure it is HER brand.

She sticks her nose and mouth into the cup
(the cup is empty)licking as far down as her tongue can reach
Next she begins to lick the rim of the cup....
Then she licks all down the side of the cup ending the weekend only
ritual
by
Declaring her undying love for the cup and its contents
with the Madi mark of approvalNow you know how a Diva Island Princess Cat
gets her daily buzzzzzzzz
