Number 235

 by Leonardo Drew

Wood and Paint

2019

Nature Friday entry because**

Sculptor Leonardo Drew is the next contemporary artist to transform the Museum’s first floor galleries with a new site-specific commission. Known for his large-scale, multi-dimensional installations, Drew **employs organic materials to create topographies that are at once looming in size and stunning in their intricacies. For Number 235, Drew will anchor sculptural pieces that he refers to as “planets” and surround them with hundreds of smaller objects as he works to identify the interconnectedness of them all.

Click here to watch a short 2:00 minute video about the art and artist and you can see how it is assembled.

Wordy Wednesday from Kat and Rocky

Thank you to our Hostess

Dearest Auntie HiC

You won’t believe this, but Mom was suspended from TikTok because they don’t think she meets age requirement of 13! 😹

At this point she can’t even access her account, so all previous videos are LOST! (Except the ones she downloaded to her photos.) 🙀
Needless to say, she’s in quite a tizzy. She has appealed, & hopefully the issue will be resolved soon.

In the meantime, here’s an old video of us playing hide & seek.
I’m always the one to hide, & due to his short attention span Rocky is not very good at seeking, unless I  help him! 😹

Auntie HiC please ask out furry friends and their staff if this has ever happened to them and how they fixed it.  As of yesterday, the tricky tockers have NOT responded to Mom's appeal.
WE all know mom is a few years over 13. MOL MOL
Hugs and thank you
Kat and Rocky your furry nephews

Happy Tuesday from inside the NC Art Museum

  • feeling or showing pleasure or contentment:

Thank you to our

 Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

As I mentioned in Saturday's post, we visited the NC Art Museum last Wednesday.

First HAPPY we were able to get ahead of the 4 bus loads of Middle School kiddos.

Second Happy their tour began on the out side Art Trail.  Click here to see two of our favorite outside trails close to home. Art Trail is our favorite.

Lots of happy things seen in there.  We went into the old part of the museum.

Below is the sign my the mirror sculpture.  We never saw the middle school kiddos in that area. I hope their chaperones were watching them closely.  I know most would have been so tempted to stick their hands in there.  All of the holes were big enough for a head too.

The sculpture had a viewing holes for looking inside.

This is yours truly  and my husband you see while I was snapping a photo of the outside of the sculpture

Then I looked inside.  It was a ginormous Kaleidoscope
I tried to snap some several different colors

It was really pretty.  I will admit that the child in me did wonder what was
was inside.  LOL

Awww Monday with Harper

 Thank you to our

Host Comedy Plus

In mid October, when Harper was adopted from Island Rescue she  6 months old.  From day one she was all about meeting and greeting everyone.  Frisco's is 8 y.o. now; however, since Harper arrived his inner kitten as emerged.  They run and chase and hide.  Frisco likes to know where his sisters are is all the time.  Mia is normally easy to find.  You cannot blink for a nano second or you will miss Hurricane Harper.  She loved playing with the zipper string on my coat.

While we were visiting, I kept commenting on Harper's long tail.  Her Dad recently measured all 13" of it?!

Her very favorite toy (after playing with Frisco) is a red hot chili pepper that came as a freebie in a Chewy.com order.  She loves playing with it on the couch by her Mommy,

She totes it everywhere she goes and talks to it constantly. Every now and then she hides her favorite toys.  Her staff is so very worried she will hide it and forget where she put it.  They tried to order more from Chewy.com but they are out of stock.

Top left photo you will see Mia in the chair, which is her Dad's chair.  She is a Daddy's girl.  If he sits, she sits. She warms up his chair while patiently for him to come.  Harper is taking a short break under the ottoman.

The photos below are the first photos we received of Harper.

The most recent photo
Will she or won't she  grow into her long legs and lush lady tail

I was never able to hold Harper she was on the move.  She gave me many sniffs of approval.  Next visit she will remember me.
