Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy

Here is today's photo. It inspired me to tell you a true story.
A few weeks ago my sister-in-law and all her family met in *Duck, NC for their annual beach trip. There were a total of 7 children under 11.
This story is about her oldest grandson Oliver, when he first saw the ocean.
Oh what luck
it is time for our trip to DUCK (NC).
We live in Maryland
The pawrents said
the trip will be long.
we'll sing some songs
We rode and we rode and we rode some more
Are they playing a trick
will this road every take us to Duck.
Finally we arrived at the rental cottage.
I was so excited to SEE the SEA.
Mom opened our doors, unbuckled our seats.
Go stretch your legs, but don't
get in the Sea with your clothes on!!
When you are SIX,
rules often get MIXED.
In a nanosecond they were
quickly NIXED.
In the water I stood
fully dressed.
Imagine my glee when the waves
drenched me from head to toe.
In my DEFENSE,
rules are hard to follow
when they make no SENSE
I heard Mom say, I'll have to hang you out
TO DRY.
*Duck, NC is located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina
