Today, I , Madi am not happy with the song selection!! Mom is going to sing solo...so low you can't hear her!!
Donna, Donna the Prima Donna
by Dion and the Belmonts (early 1960's)
Mom says this song could be my theme song. She decided, without consulting me, to substitute
Madi and Diva for Donna...Mom cracks herself up!!!
Broke my heart,
We're apart
I thought that she would love me so
But in time I realized
She had a pair of roving eyes
I remember the nights we dated,
Always acting sophisticated,
Talking about high socieity,
Then she tried to make a fool out of me
We're apart now
She always wears charms, diamonds, pearls galore,
She buys them a the 5 & 10 cent store,
She wants to be just like Zsa Zsa Gabor
Even though she is the girl next door
They call her Madi, Madi, the Prima Diva
Broke my heart
Thinks she's smart
We're apart
We thank Hootin Anni for sponsoring Thursday Theme song...

Aw, go on, make up and purr/hug. You are the best couple!! Mom and Madi...Madi and Mom...nothing else sounds right!! Oh! It was just a song? Gee, you scared me!!! OK, I get it! Duh!! Hi Madi & Mom,
ReplyDeleteWe think your Mom is a great singer Madi, we like that song. But then while we know you are a Diva we never thought of you as a heart-breaking Diva. Not our sweet Madi!
You would look good in those pearls Madster.

Hi Madi, we have never heard that song before......or maybe we just never heard it sung in that unique style moms all seem to have!
ReplyDeleteThat was a clever idea for a post and we liked the pictures that went with the words.

Ah, Madi, what you put up with from that woman!
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of you on those blankets! Just where you belong, my darling!!
Cute Mom. Roving eyes look like LAZER eyes to me Madi.....
ReplyDeleteMy cats would agree that all cats are Prima Divas, and rightfully so. And a very beautiful cat like you, should revel in her superiority.
ReplyDeleteOh my word!!.. What a great post! First, I have to admit, while I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE music of ALL kinds, including all the 50s and 60s.. I had never heard this song before.. And I LOVED it!! The Zsa Zsa Gabor part (reminds me of when I snuck into my mother's lipstick when I was little, but that's another story!).. And I love the part about all her jewels are from the 5-and-dime store!! Funny! (Yes, some of mine is from there, but I'm gradually trying to build up a collection of nicer pieces!) Smiling ear to ear, I was dancing in my seat here, and I know I'll be singing this the rest of the day!.. Nice to meet you today... Oh, and I don't want to forget to say "Nice to meet you too, Madi!! ~tina
ReplyDeleteBOL!! I am laughing at those pictures, you don't look pleased!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
