While Mom was Groovin' reliving her youth, I had to cover my eyes.
Evidently, Groovin' means dancing and it was not a pretty sight.
We thank Hootin Anni for sponsoring today's
Groovy meme day. As you have probably guessed by now
Mom is featuring Groovin' by the Young Rascals. This song was playing on every radio and stero in the summer of 1967, which was the year Mom graduated from high school. Or as the song says the Summer of Love.
Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon
Really couldn't get away too soon
I can't imagine anything that's better
The world is ours whenever we're together
Groovin' down a crowded avenue
Doin' anything we like to do
Doin' anything we like to do
There's always lots of things that we can see
We can be anyone we want to be
And all those happy people we could meet just....
Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon
we really couldn't get away too soon
We'll keep on spending Sunday afternoons this way
we're going to talk and laugh our time away.
I feel it comin' closer day by day
Life would be ecstasy just you and me endlessly Groovin'....
All of today's pictures were taken in Cameron Village Shopping Center.
The cute little critters can be found at Accipter Gallery.
There aren't a lot of words to the song but the vocals and the music are excellent especially the harmonica. Now sit back, close your eyes and let the Groovin' video take you back in time. The Young Rascals aren't as young as they used to be but they have not lost their groove!!
I was enlarging all of you photos taking a look at the metal art in the last shots. When all of a sudden in the third photo from the bottom .... I saw a squirrel!
ReplyDeleteI love that song, it's so easy going and relaxing (just like Madi).

Madi you poor cat! Mom likes to groove too but my Mom is younger than yours and likes all that 90's girl power and boy band stuff. YUCK. She even tries to dance with me to it!
