Mom and I thank Hootin Anni for hosting
Mom is a child of the 60's and a BIG Paul Anka fan.
Today we are featuring
A Steel Guitar and a Glass of Wine
This song is one of Mom's favorite songs. She doesn't recall it being played much on the radio but she absolutely loves the music, beat and words.
She says this music makes her have happy feet. You should have seen her dancing in her seat. Please click on one of the videos (sorry we didn't meant to put two on here MOL) below to hear the song while you look at our pictures and read the words.
We aren't sure but you might have to click on a you tube link to actually hear the song but it is worth it...
Just give me a steel guitar, a glass of wine
and let me drink to a love I thought was mine
A love I thought was true to me
but now I'm drinkin' to a memory
a steel guitar and a glass of wine
While my tears they glisten and the candles shine
Oh candle-glow, oh candle bright
tell me who she sniffs (holds) tonight
And bring me wine and make the music mine
Play another set, so I'll forget
Mmmmm, bring me a steel guitar and a glass of wine
and let me toast her just one more time
Oh candle-glow, before you dim
Tell her what a fool she has been
and bring me wine
Make the music mine
Play another set
so I'll forget
and let me toast her just one more time
Oh candle-glow, before you dim
Tell her what a fool she's been

Anudder great one, Madi! Was your Mommy dancin in her seat befor or after that glass of wine? We luf that last pic of you, it's so mysterious! Happy Thursday! XOXOXOXO
ReplyDeleteFor some odd reason Mum says it reminds her of childhood holidays in Spain... I'm wondering if she's going senile...hehe! Deccy x
ReplyDeleteOur mom says she doesn't remember this song but she love the Latin rhythm, she is dancing in her seat too. Mr. Paul Anka is extremely dreamy. Those are some really great photos of you Madi. You so very mysterious in the last one.

ReplyDeleteMadi, loved the pictures to with the lyrics!
ReplyDeleteBut I don't remember that one on the radio either!
What an elegant table, you watching and the candle lights reflected on the window!
So romantic looking!
My favorite Paul Anka song was "Lonely Boy." I think I outgrew him before he stopped singing. One of the few of my childhood idols that I totally lost interest in as I grew up. I don't remember this song but I liked it. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWe are dancing in the kitchen!
