Once upon a time there was a kitty
who bellowed to her mom
come quick I spy a bushy tailed
rodent eating your pansies.
THE END
I have a burning question for you to ponder
answer on Friday
If 7 trees fall in my yard, can you hear them?
We are having 7, 60 foot pine trees removed
today. It will be a traumatic day...
but we will survive.
As you can see by this picture, they are all very
close to the house.
4 in the back yard, 2 on the side and 1 in the front
During ice storms
ice collects on the pine boughs. It only takes 1/4"
of ice to bring down limbs....we don't want them
falling on our house.

Wow - paws crossed that all goes well with the tree removal!
ReplyDeleteThe nerve of that rodent feasting on the pansies! Cutting down trees is always nerve wracking. We hope it's uneventful.
ReplyDeleteHee hee hee - "the {back} end". I didn't know squirrels ate pansies! I think you are going to have quite a show when those trees are taken down. Good luck!

Trees are always wonderful, so long as they are a certain distance from one's roof!
ReplyDeleteI bet it are gonna make some noise!
ReplyDeleteWe probably won't hear them BUT we'll let you know.
ReplyDeleteWe think that outdoor cat in the first picture attacked us on our early morning walk.
XXXOOO Bella, Roxy & Dui
Sure hope the trees will go down the right way :)
ReplyDeleteXOXO
That's a lot of trees to have removed! That sounds noisy, but if the arborists are good, it will go quickly and safely. We love seeing squirrels outside, especially when they run across our window screens. That brings us running to the window!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with TIMBER Thursday Madi and wow you must come and join us on Homeland Security patrol as you are an ace at it. Have a tremendous Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Oh Madi, I really hope those trees don't cause any trauma for you, that would be quite a thump! Maybe it will scare those squirrels away from the pansies though...
ReplyDeleteOMC Sowwy is gunna be stwessful but so glad yous will be safe.

Well that is kind of sad that those trees have to go but we sure understand. It is so scary when ice gets on trees. They do come down quickly. Good luck to all of you. Hope it isn't too scary. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWe had a beautiful royal palm that was right next to the house. A couple years ago Mom and Dad had it taken down because they were afraid it would come down ON the house in a hurry cane. It was sad but they had to do it.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Your guy Raz and The Florida Furkids
...and don't want them falling on you....
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
hugs, Bugsy and Knuckles
I can hear the 7 falling trees :o) Oh and if thingies with bushy tails live in your 7 pines, please send them to me. We have a giant walnut tree what lives in my back yard. If we have storms my mom is on patrol all 5 minutes and looks for the tree. I have no clue what she will do if the tree comes down, butt I'm sure it will be funny :o) Be careful when the trees come down, use an umbrella, Madi.
ReplyDeleteOh My, Cover your ears, Madi, maybe put some cotton in them, it's going to be very very noisy at your house!! Sounds scary going OVER the house with a crane! Maybe since it's only 7 they will be done fast!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Kathy and Molly
That's a LOT of trees to take down, Madi. I would miss them especially since they are big and old and probably provide wonderful shade. I surely won't hear them fall down, but you will. Maybe get some ear plugs!

Hahaah! Madi, I love to come here!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you are going to be hearing a lot of noise from all that. We cut 3 huge trees out of the hay field this past weekend. 1 of the 3 landed where planned. The hubby just laughed and said "Paul Buyun I'm not".
ReplyDeleteSQUIRREL ALERT SQUIRREL ALERT.... Good Job Madi.
ReplyDeleteOMD OMD MAYBE if the 7 tall trees are gone... the SQUIRRELS will leave TOO. THAT would be a GOOD THINGY.
OMD stay UNDER the bed while the Guyz are taking the trees down... THAT will be really SCARY. HIDE
Don't think we will be able to hear them here in Missouri but we will feel your pain. We have taken down too many trees to count in the last three years because of the drought. All Oaks. Made me cry. Definitely worth it though to not have to worry when an ice storm hit you!
ReplyDeleteGray squirrels ate my purple petunias. Just the purple ones! What's up with that? Sorry the squirrel got your pansies!
DeleteWe had several oak trees taken down two years ago, we have so much sunlight now. You will get to sunbathe lots in sunpuddles around your house.
ReplyDeletesquirrels do eat flowers, and what great watch cat you have... sorry Mayor for calling you CAT... LOL... we both know you are a person.... lots of money falling down with those trees...
ReplyDeleteSometimes the trees have to go to keep you safe. Good job alerting your mom to that squirrel.
ReplyDeleteOUR dad feeds them...sigh...we haf no college monies left. Wesa don't know about those trees ..just stay inside where you will be safe.
ReplyDeletestella rose
we have noticed that our bunny is eating some of moms flowers. Sorry about the trees but best to be safe!

Oh yea pretty Madi, to darn noisy!
ReplyDeleteSilly, bushy tailed rodent, we hope you scared him away Madi.
ReplyDeleteOur mama has told us stories from when she lived in GA. During ice storms she could hear branches breaking all night long. Cutting down those trees is a good idea.

We only had to have one pine tree removed and were amazed at how quickly the guys did it and then was nothing left and it was amazing. I do recall someone saying be on the lookout for termites after they pulverized the tree with all the sawdust that will be left. Madi I bet you went UTB!!!
ReplyDeleteTrees are beautiful but not if they are falling on the house! Madi you make a good lookout cat!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Hope it all goes smoothly
ReplyDeleteThose squirrels sure are sneaky!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!

We left a comment earlier and now we can't find it. OR Mommy is losing her mind. MOL!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the tree removal. Mommy hates when we used to do that. It makes her nervous!
We bet Mr. Squirrel will hate it, too. MOL!
>>smooches<< from your besties, Princeton and Precious.
Sad to see the trees go, but much better to be safe! A lot of evergreen trees here have had to be removed because they are all dying from some disease:( Luckily we don't have any at our home.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday.
Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
Before we were living here, the mom and dad-guy had 6 trees removed from the backyard...they were diseased ash trees. It was a big job. We hope all goes well with your tree removal.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the tree felling today Miss Madi - as sad as it is to have to cut them down, safety comes first.

PeeS: did you chase that naughty tree rat away?
