Fog by Robert Frost
THE fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking

over harbor and city

on silent haunches

and then moves on.

This is one of Mom's favorite poems...

YOU HAVE NEVER felt little cat feet...
go ahead no charge!!

  1. SQUEEEE! Little cat feet are the greatest!

  2. Our mom knows the feel of little cat feet very well...our sister cats are forever climbing all over her...NO FAIR *just sayin'*

  3. But Robert Frost could be describing Aberdeen. This exquisite poem should be better known here! The notion that the fog comes on little cat feet might help the citizens of this too often fog bound city look more favourably on an unloved local climate phenomenon. (Gail says she used to work in an office overlooking the harbour and often watched the fog advancing and retreating over the ships).
    Toodle pip!
PS Human Granny always goes round quoting Keats at this time of year. "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" etc.

  4. We love that poem, too. SHE's felt little cat paws AND little cat claws......

  5. Our human is quite familiar with "little" cat feet...with claws...all over her. LOL.

It's a lovely poem, one our human hasn't read in a long time, actually.

    Purrs and peace.

  6. I'm quite familiar with little cat feet, too ...even though I'm a dog! My assistant reads Robert Frost poems to my little sissy sometimes.

Big announcement on the blog today.

  7. That is a nice poem and we especially like the picture of the fog and your yard. Madi, those do look like nice soft feet. Our paws are soft too.

  8. I so agree, if the fog approaches he comes as soft as velvet... or as cat feet. that is a super poem, well done Mr. Frost. And that poem is much better than the darned fog-movie by John Carpenter what brought nightmares to my momma for months.

  9. I like that poem, very apropos! We have lots of fog living near the beach and it sneaks in like quiet cat feet! One minute sunny and the next minute it quietly gets dark out.
    Hugs and nose taps

  10. Awwwwwwww Madi you have the softest furs on those little cat feets, they are cute, your little tappy toes! The poem is wonderful, stay in that sun puddle away from the fog! love and licks from your furiend Frank xxxxxxx

  11. wow, your feet sure are soft, thanks for not putting out the claws while i was feeling them. i like that poem to... most poetry makes no sense to me, this is one that does...

  12. hehehe, Putter Jean lets me play with her paws every now and then!

  13. Our Mom loves that poem TOO. OMD you did CATGA in that furst pic.
Do your paws smell like fritos? Ours do.

  14. Hey Madi!
Wow, no wonder your Mom likes that one! Oh, I'd love to snuffle your little paws. My Mom wants a snuggle with you too.
