Thursday Tale: Tree Monkeys Returneth

You will probably remember this photo from our post on Saturday 2/28/15 about
the falling pine tree limb barely missed Gracie our Highlander on Thursday 2/26/15.
As soon as the peeps saw this on Thursday morning, they were on the phone calling
the Tree Monkeys to get on their schedule to have the offending trees removed
Well lo and behold the peeps are very good customers to the tree monkeys
They came to our house Saturday morning....and they were noisy.
They came with a chipper machine shown below.
OMCs you would not want your paws to get caught in that thing.
It actually ate up and spit out huge sections of trees and limbs
 They were very efficient and
I was happy to see one of the Tree Monkey's had
impressive climbing skills.  He made this climb look easy!!

During the entire ordeal I sat right here....cause I knew Mom had my back
but I was ready to scurry if need be.

In spite of the cold and miserable conditions, mom really loved how the
ice formed on the bird feeder domes.  She said it reminded her of
old fashioned lamp shades with crystals hanging from the shades
Yay mom she always tries to see the beauty in things.
We are thrilled to say the last pine trees that could potentially threaten our house
are now gone.  The yard looks rather pathetic but we'll plant some pretty flowering trees like
dogwoods and crepe myrtles this spring to fill in the gaps.

  1. We just love your ice domes Madi...they are awfully pretty!! We are also glad that you survived the visit from the tree monkeys and that your house is safe and sound from the pine trees!
    Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo

  2. I'm glad your house is safe for now! I bet your humans will be planting some really pretty things in the spring.

  3. Wonder if the birdies noticed those icy domes..... They are beautiful.

At least you don't have to worry about trees falling any more.

  4. OMD the ice cool. Have a tremendous Thursday Madi and stay warm and safe.
    Best wishes Molly

  5. Hari OM
Indeed there is beauty even in devastation - it's a quirk of Nature! Lovely narration of the monkeying with the trees Madi... hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  6. I finks we need to borrow your tree monkeys. When ours visited, they chopped the top off a tree and just threw it to the ground, well, not the ground but onto one of Dad's bonsai's! You should have heard Mum's language.....on second thoughts , no you shouldn't. Then the tree monkey tried telling Mum that's the way these things were done...Oophs! Apparently not in our back yard!
    Loves and licky kisses
    Princess Leah xxx

  7. That really is a beautiful ice picture. We are all so very ready for spring now. Please spring, we need you.

8.'re really brave to watch that!!! We had to have the tree monkeys cut down a big palm tree in front of the house not too long ago. It was NOISY!

    The bird feeders are beautiful.

your guy Raz and The Florida Furkids

  9. The tree monkeys cleared things up quite nicely for you and now your house (and car) are safe!! I love love LOVE the ice crystals on the feeders - they look like very elegant Tiffany lamps......WOO WOO!

    Hugs, sammy

  10. Where can I learn to be a tree monkey? Imagine I could get all squirrels! It's great that Gracie wasn't hurt by that tree... the bird feeder lamps are great! it looks like magic!

  11. The ice domes on the bird feeders really is fun. AT least all that ice was good for something. You all have a super Thursday.

  12. Hope the weather improves soon. We need to get some tree monkeys out here.

  13. WE are Glad that the Tree Monkeys arrived so quickly and were so efficient...
BUTT we are SORRY that you lost your trees... they had been there fur a LONG time...
You were VERY much Brave to not HIDE from the Tree Monkeys...
Your birdies must have thought they were dining in a 5 Star Restaurant with those pretty Decorations on their Feeders...

  14. great news the monkey's showed up so quickly... and you had a hding place handy just in love love the bird feeder icekashades.. they are beautiful

  16. Your ice domes are just beautiful!!! My mom has two tree monkey son in laws, they climb and climb and climb it is scary to watch.......they do a real good job also....stella rose

  17. That kind of noise gets me under the bed pretty Madi!

  18. I always wanted to plant a dogwood in our yard but never got around to it. I know you are glad to be rid of the pine trees. WE have several huge ones in our yard. Glad everything went so well. Madi under the bed with all that buzzing would have been a great idea.

  19. The icicle formations are so pretty. Mom actually still has two lamps with crystals hanging from them in her bedroom. They belonged to her Mom but they aren't dome-shaped - they are like tulips:)

Good for those tree monkeys - no more problems from those trees. We think we might like that kind of tree monkey better than the evil tree rats:)

Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  20. It is nice that they could respond so quickly! We used to have 3 pine trees between our house and the neighbor's and they always tilted. They were young trees. After always propping them back up for about 3-4 years, dad realized they would probably always do that so out they came! They went with the "remove 'em while it's cheap" plan.

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  22. Your mom described the bird feeders purrfectly. Our mom is one of those always seeing the silver lining kind of people. It is snowing here again today...big puffy flakes coming down very hard! We are not thinking we can find anything positive about it. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  23. Those ice domes are so neat! Glad those offending trees have been taken care of. Anything that threatens Mady & Mom needs to GO!!!

  24. Tree monkeys, BOL! Glad the car survived it's brush with the tree. Those really do look like lampshades!
    Dip and Elliot x

  25. Oh we love the "lamp shades" on the bird feeders !!!! So good the tree monkeys came fast and got the job done!
    Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel

  26. Wow! The tree monkeys sound like real monkeys. Glad no one got hurt with the falling braches. That ice does look pretty.

  27. Oooo pretty flowering trees! The tree monkeys did a good job. We are going to need the tree monkeys in the fall I think! You were brave Madi. I get really tired, really quick listening to all that noise!

  28. the lamp shades in the yard.....glad all turned out ok....yep, some trees are just not right for the local weather.

    The Mad Scots

  29. I am glad the offending trees have gone now Madi. Those icy domes look very pretty.

  30. Maybe now your yard will get more sun so you can have more flowers. Those birdie feeders are pretty with their parasol tops.

  31. Oh, pine trees are always a problem! I'm glads the monkeys were able to make your yardie lots safer for both human and doggie (I would say kitteh, butts I knows that your paws never touch the ground! ☺)
OMD, Ma thought your feeders WERE lamp shades! BOL yeah, she's dingie...
    Ruby ♥

  32. Watching those tree monkeys is almost as much fun as watching the birdies and squirrels.

  33. You won't miss those pines at all. Madi, that guy could give you kitties a run for the money on getting up a tree.

    Happy weekend.

Please leave a meow or bark for Madi...her assistant (aka Mom) will respond in a timely fashion. =^..^=
Life is short, spend it with those who make you laugh
