This dogwood just sprouted in our yard years and years ago.
It has lived through much abuse (not by us) major back of the house renovation,
when it was pretty much cut down. Ice storms, hurricanes!! OH if it could talk.
It is like a Timex watch it just keeps on (s)ticking in spite of it all 'abuse'.
This year, the fall colors on it were spectacular. Best of all about 8 months of the
year when it is covered with leaves it is the perfect spot for two dishes of water for our fine feathered friends and some furry friends.

ReplyDeletetis a beautiful tree and strong and meant to be there. I love them when they are in full bloom and have not seen one in many years. is yours pink or white? of course right now it is orange
ReplyDeleteIt is a very colorful and pretty tree! I love dogwoods, they get that beautiful canopy shape. I miss our dogwoods back on the Tiny Ten but I have some gorgeous pictures to keep for memories.
ReplyDeleteDogwood trees are the best. That is such a good picture of them. I love it when they blossom in the Spring. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWe're sure glad that pretty tree is still hanging in there!
ReplyDeleteWe've been watching some tree seedlings in our yard. The evil squirrels accidentally planted them when they buried their acorns and then forgot about them. Oh and our yard would be wall to wall silver maples if not for the lawn mower! Good luck to that little dogwood!
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty tree.
ReplyDeleteThe dogwood is such a lovely tree when it is in full bloom. Yours looks very nice with its colorful leaves. some of the trees in our area are taking a beating today . They are still full of leaves and we have a very heavy wet snowstorm with those flakes weighing down the big trees.

I've notice what a strong will to live that most trees have. Even when I don't want them to, LOL. That dogwood was a pretty gift to you.
ReplyDeleteDogwoods are one of my favorite trees. I've tried to grow them several time but have never been successful.
