Out standing
by Cecilia
Out standing in the field
This little building must surely have a tale!
Did the bell toll for students or for the weary on the trail?
Chimney smoke sent up signals to show the way,
Arched door welcomed all who entered.
Out standing in the field biding all to come in sit and stay.
Outstanding in the field!!
Out standing
Angel Madi
There I was out-standing in my field
Basking in the sun and gentle breeze
I heard a squeak just to the right
Lo and behold it was a mouse
trying not to sneeze.

ReplyDeleteBouncing Bertie is right about the mouse in Angel Madi's poem! Loved the words for your poem, Cecilia. I'm thanking you for keeping your voice heard here through typed words and keeping Madi's memory alive, Cecilia. It would have been very sad had you not continued on. I smile every day I come here.
ReplyDeleteThose were great poems and we enjoyed those fields of dreams. Hey, the Blogosphere sure would be lacking without you and we're so thankful you stayed here. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThose are both lovely poems.
ReplyDeleteGood poems. I'm glad that you are continuing to blog.
ReplyDeleteIt cracks me up when I see a car or van with Geek Squad on it.
I expect to see a pack of guys jump out with pocket protector's in starched white long sleeve shirts, with thick black rim eye glasses and carrying a brief case.
We love both of your poems. Were always happy to see Angel Madi. We're really happy you continued the blog after Madi went OTB. We know she is pleased.

ReplyDeleteLove and Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
Angle Madi, it's good that you are in spirit form, otherwise that mousie would have been LUNCH! I graduated high school with 100's of others; cannot imagine what it would have been like attending a one-room school.
ReplyDeleteI met you after Madi and I'm ever so grateful for that. I enjoy visiting you each day.
ReplyDeleteLove both your poems.
I'm thankful for your friendship.
Have a fabulous day, Cecilia. Big hug. ♥

ReplyDeleteA lonely and windswept area....but peaceful.
ReplyDeleteTwo super duper poems. We love when Angel Madi stops by. That building looks very interesting, but a little lonely for some occupants.
