Today we join Two SPOILED CATS
Today's inspiration
Jitterbug
Dancers have great rhythm!
Movin' and groovin' to the tunes
They must practice their moves over and over.
He in the gym she in the studio
Cheek to cheek eyes locked on the other's
She must trust him as they bend and stretch
as he sweeps her off her feet.
Side story:
When I was a senior in high school, adult volunteers were needed. My dad was an electrical contractor. I volunteered Daddy to help with the lighting. Daddy always had a good eye
for detail. It was a magical night.
Little did I know, my parents and the other adult volunteers, would be asked to be chaperones at the Prom. When the music started, most of the kids didn't move.
The adults were the first on the floor...all about my parent's age.
Lo and behold they all started dancing the Jitterbug.
I had no idea my parents could move like that.

Guess what?!?
Today, 11/21, is Mom and Dad's 25th wedding anniversary. 💕
Pup and I are so very THANKFUL to be surrounded by their love and devotion
Mom says Dad still makes her blush. 😻
And Dad says Mom still makes him laugh. 😹
Sounds like the purr-fect combination for a successful relationship: love and laughter.

ReplyDeleteLOL - it is one of those rights of passage when we are young, I think, to see our parents as young and fun people themselves!

No matter how old you are, when you witness your parents doing something 'cool', it's very weird!
ReplyDeleteI purposely turned off the comments on my Wednesday post, so that wasn't the fault of your computer!
DeleteI love that the adults were out on the floor and doing their thang! I wish I could have seen that. We didn't;t have such a cool happening at our dances. Same ol' same ol'. Congratulations to Pup and Kat's parents! I love that they have stayed together and content all this time. XXOO
ReplyDeleteGreat poem and such a sweet story about your folks. Happy Anniversary to Kat's folks. XO
ReplyDeleteIf you did that now your kids would be upset that you embarrassed them.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been fun...and a little embarrassing to see your parents doing the jitterbug!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cool story abouts your peeps!!! Though, I don't knows how happy I would have been if my Dad was at my Prom! ☺
ReplyDeleteHAPPY HAPPY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO KAT AND PUPS PEEPS!!!! What a lovely cardie, and love story!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
I'm glad my son always saw me as the "cool" parent who could really dance. :) But I would have probably felt like you did when you saw your parents on the dance floor if my Mom had done that. Wishing Kat's parents many more happy years together. Amy
ReplyDeleteI would love to know how to dance but I have two left feet. Happy 25th anniversary to Kat & Pup's peeps.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to Kat's pawrents!! LOve that your parents got on the dance floor to jitter bug!!!!
