Nature Friday host LLB Gang and Feline Friday host Comedy Plus
My very good friend, Chelle, lives in Palm Coast, Florida. Recently she had family visiting from New England. She wore her tour guide hat. Chelle sent me these beautiful photos from Washington Oaks State Park. She told me there are always beautiful flowers in bloom. They have a whole rose garden section.

Friday Morning, May 28 we had a most unusual visitor.
A white wild jack rabbit. His ears were tan. Neither of us had ever seen a
white wild rabbit. I asked Gigi Google about it.
Supposedly we don't have white wild jack rabbits in NC but in Western USA. Gigi said they have white bodies and beige/tan ears. Just like this one.
They are white in the winter.
I tried to quietly go out the back door to get a better photo and to see if per chance he was albino. He was off in a flash which was fine. He is an easy target for the hawks in the area. I do hope he will turn brown soon, if he is a wild jackrabbit.
We are seeing a lot of bunnies this spring this is our first ever all white.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful roses! We have lots of bunnies this year - they eat the clover in the neighbors yard. The bunnies we see here are brown and tan. I wonder if that white rabbit is an escapee from someone's home as a pet??

Wow - the roses are just gorgeous and how beautiful the white jackrabbit is! We get those flyovers too, Rocky. The Canadas land in landlord Bob's pond.
ReplyDeleteThose roses are all so lush and lovely! Though not white wild jack rabbits, we seem to have an overabundance of cottontails around here. Dad says he sees at least a few bounding up the driveway or through the grass every day. What a cool flyover, and yes, it's a good thing the kitty was inside to avoid the stink bombs!

How can we not love a flower named Wild White Indigo?!!! The roses are beautiful... lucky Rosy! I'm thinking what has been mentioned... somebunnie's pet bunny? We get some extra large splats from big birds flying over the Casa... Sandhill Cranes are the champions of huge deposits!

ReplyDeleteI just wish my life was half as interesting and fun as your life is. The video was perfect and loud haha. The roses are spectacular and I love the Palm Coast and the one time we were in that Washington State Park is the only place I ever saw a three-foot-tall owl sitting in a tree. He was huge and that's a wonderful Park. That area is where we wanted to retire but we never made the move and now we're too old

Those roses are so beautiful and the purple one is too. Maybe that bunny is a leucistic rabbit which means he lost some of his natural color but isn't albino. We hope it isn't a pet that someone let go or lost.

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous rose garden! I LOVE rose gardens! I used to frequently walk in Victoria BC's Empress Hotel Rose Garden. It was just across the harbour from where I worked. And That sure looks like a jack rabbit! Love the Canada Geese and Rocky's reaction to the geese! Terrific post! Thanks so much! And Thank you for visiting us!
