Angel Sammy and Teddy find such inspiring photos for us
This is today's inspiration Angel Sammy gave us today
OMCs OMDs this photo brought back memories from my childhood
True story
When I was six, our first pet was a
a handsome Boxer bull named
Duke
Sometimes when he ate too fast he
would Puke*.
When moved to a new house, I was eager to meet new friends.
Duke was always by my side.
He would give anyone who tried to come in the yard that Boxer Look (above).
Many friends could not decide
how to get passed Duke.
Finally he learned the difference in
friends and foes.
Sometimes he was so happy to see them,
He jumped on their toes.
He loved his family and all our friends.
THE End
*that problem was quickly corrected. He got small meals 3 times a day.
oh what a fab guy.... and we are glad that fast-food rhymes with his name... that happens here sadly too, so no fast food, right? LOL
ReplyDeleteCute poem for this photo AND "in honor of" your dog Duke!

Awww, Duke was a great pet and friend for you.
ReplyDeleteWe have lived with puking critters ever since ... Can you say hairballs?
ReplyDeleteDuke is handsome.
What a great poem and three small meals sounds like a great fix!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture and a great poem telling the story of your family boxer.
ReplyDeletetoday each time i see this boxer with curlers I laugh out loud. he is so beautiful. we always fed our dogs once a day, when bob got home from work between 3 and 4. that way they did not eat and have to stay home alone without access to back yard. along came JAKE, he was found starving in the streets and ate so fast it would not stay down and after he came, all 3 were fed 1/2 in the am and 1/2 at 3.. Big and Beau both ate/eat twice a day, they only get one cup each time because he eats a little of our 3 meals a day
ReplyDeleteDuke was a good pal!

That was a nice poem. Growing up we had 3 boxers. One day I found my mum's lipstick and put it very thickly on the youngest boxer's lips. My mum was not amused!
ReplyDeleteFun poem and I'm sure a very sweet pup too!
