Awww Monday and Sparks

 Thank you to our

Host Comedy Plus

This photo was taken the same day I took yesterday's photo.

On my walks I am always looking for unusual things to share.  I probably should be paying more attention to my feet, so I don't trip.

I said a big Awww when, my mind's eye saw this beautiful chimney and fan windows and then the red star.  This neighborhood is a few blocks from us.  Maybe the residents of this home are originally from Texas

I'm very thankful that I was looking up and not at my feet.

  1. Love the fan windows - what a nice compliment to that fireplace bumpout.....Looking up at the stars is inspiring for sure!

  2. If this house was clapboard, it'd be close to resembling the house from Amityville Horror.

  3. The stars are much prettier ...

  4. Too much brickwork for me, but I was pleased to see the horseshoe around the star was facing upwards. So many people put them facing down and that will let your luck fall out.

  7. Oh gosh I couldn't tell that was a horse shoe until someone mentioned it here! Love the windows and if I had been consulted, :-) I wouldda put the star a little higher!

  8. you know that tiny horseshoe with star in that huge expand of bricks is messing with my OCD ME.. LOL maybe they moved there from Texas? or they own horses? I did take the time to google search and it seems red horsehoes mean the gift of love and wealth. I did find one just like this for sale for 52.50 if you want one for your house. wow they have a lot of this type on etsy

  10. I like to look for interesting things when I walk as well. Sometimes I don't see anything that jumps out at me. But, we had windows like that on each side of our fireplace in the house I grew up in, so your picture brought back nice memories. Maybe they're horsey people and not necessarily from Texas...hard to know. Maybe one day in your walks someone will be outside working in the yard or something and you'll be able to ask.

  18. Didn't see this listed when I looked up Texas emblems, symbols, etc. However, both the five pointed star wards off evil spirits and the horseshoe brings good luck!

  20. Hootin' Anni said exactly what dad said when he saw this picture. His first though was "The Amityville Horror".
