Symmetry Saturday

All symmetry in our Neighborhood.
Obviously this first one is on a very very low lot.
I guess they park on the street during ice storms.
When on the house hunt in 1983, we actually looked a the house to the left of this one.  It had and still has a huge hole of confined stagnated water behind/ aka Mosquito Motel and the driveway is steep too.  We didn't even go in the house.  Lot and stagnated water were not on our 'must have' list.

I guess the "Caverno" written on the driveway is their name

  2. There is a cul de sac across from us that has a low lot on it - nobody has ever built there so it's just an empty lot between two other houses. I'm sure there's a lot of critters down in that low spot. These people who built that house in your neighborhood obviously like a challenge when parking in the winter! LOL

Yikes - I'd've been building out on stilts to even that out - then there is lot of storage space beneath... (says the amateur architect!) YAM xx

  4. it is a really pretty house but I would not live there, come a lot of rain, it would be sitting in a pool. that driveway looks scary even without ice/snow... its funny how we find houses we love and don't love. when we were looking there were several the real estate agent showed us that we refused to go inside. we found this one just driving around and since it was empty, peeked in the windows, and could see the big room that is the middle of the house. it was instant love, someone left the back door open so we toured and drove to the RE office and made an offer. He did not even have to show it

  5. The third home really strikes me with the symmetry! I wouldn't want a stagnant pool of water behind me either but with the preserve a bit behind us we do but it doesn't ever stink! And oddly enough I have never had a mosquito bite me here BUT I stay inside from dusk on. Noseeums, yes.

  6. I think of ice and snow in the winter and not being able to get in or out without sliding.

  7. I could not buy a home in such a low area. Always strange seeming to me when I know of someone who did. They likely did not know the consequences. Mommy said to tell you she became free of any vestige of sciatic pain yesterday. YEA! XXOO

  8. Cool houses! When we lived in WV we bought a house that had a driveway like that one. When a monsoon came the garabe flooded and water ran into our family room. Then, a blizzard came and when I opened the garage door the only thing you could see was snow!

  9. That was a wise choice. I do like the last one because it is one level. XO

  10. Lots of good symmetry there. WE sure would not want to live in a house near all that water. Bugs galore!!!

  11. Yeah, stagnant water are a recipe for mosquitos.

  12. The person who built that doesn't understand about water run off by Foley, Pocket and River

  13. There sure are lots of interesting houses around you. We too would pass on the mosquito haven in the back yard.
