Today I'm joining Louis, Blogville Director of Entertainment and Arts
Louis asked everybuddy to take a photo with an endanger species of our choice and tell a
little bit about that species. On December 30, 2016 our news paper had an article titled,
Cheetahs racing toward extinction
Did you know that a century ago 100,000 cheetahs lived in the arid grasslands of Africa.
Sadly, the population of these majestic and powerful felines is hovering around 7,100 in the wild.
Of this total 4,000 are living across six countries in southern Africa.
1,000 remain in the Serengeti plus clusters as big as 200 and as small as 10 scattered across in pockets of protected habitat. This species has been all but wiped out in Asia. Just 50 still live in Iran.
The National Academy of Sciences and researchers are working very hard to get the cheetah conservation status raised to endangered. Mom and I sure do hope somehow these
gorgeous felines can be protected for future generations.
Louis thank you for the most wonderful idea to write about an endanger species.
For a little white dog you sure do have a great big heart.
Hugs to you and your resident 'cheetah' Hazuzu!!

Madi a Cheetah in my own mind
Cheetahs are pawsome!
ReplyDeletethat was a great post!!! we love cheetahs... the mama once saw a man with outstanding clothes, bling and with a cheetah on a leash while visiting a big city... she awwed and ohhhed and bugged her grampy for such a wonderful animal. the grampy said that this man is stinking rich and therefore he can have a cheetah... the mama said then she will be like this man when she is adult or then she will marry only a man with a cheetah... heavens, no! said her granny... the mama had no clue about that... the penny dropped many years later LOL
ReplyDeleteThe cheetahs are such beautiful kitties!
ReplyDeleteWell done Madi! I love cheetahs.........it's such a shame they are endangered.
ReplyDeleteLove, Angel Sammy
Those cheetahs sure are pretty animals. Hope they can get their population up. It is always so sad when a breed starts to go away. You all have a great day.
ReplyDeletethat is sad news about so few of these fast and amazing and beautiful cats.. hope they make it to the endangered list. humans are just such destroyers of our environment and its animals
ReplyDeleteCheetahs are beautiful animals! I am sad that the cheetahs and so many animals are endangered. This is a great idea to learn about those animals and I think this blog topic has motivated me to have something to fight for this year. I was looking for another good cause to support and I think this is it. So many people and animals need help!
ReplyDeleteAren't they just beautiful? I hope they will be put on the endangered list. Well, actually I don't, but only if there are enough of them (which is like 100,000!)

Pretty soon there's not going to be any animal that isn't on the verge of extinction the way things are going.😢

ReplyDeleteWow Madi .... thank you for telling us about Cheetahs. Mum and I didn't realise there were so few of them left in the wild. Mum and Dad patted a cheetah once in the zoo. I'll try and find the photos and do a post about it. Mum was scared.
