You would think after 13 years of living with a crazy woman I
would learn to never leave her alone for too long.
Last Saturday I took a nap. When I went kitchen I noticed
this crazy thing on the window shade....
I MOL'd... Mom come quick there is an alien on the shade.
As I watched with trepidation (there she goes with the $5.00 words), she slowly raised the shade
Lo and behold it was the shadow of the new window mounted
hummingbird feeder. From April until late September
mom is 100% about the comfort and care of the Ruby-throated
hummingbirds. She has one hanging feeder but wanted
another. Years ago she had a window mounted one but the ants found it. The clear plastic stays mounted to the window, the outer edge of it has an ant moat to keep them from getting to the sugar water. The sugar water container lifts out making it
easy to clean and add fresh water.
Sometimes dad and I think she loves the hummers more than us!?
Oh no Madi!!!

Looking forward to reading something about investment in your welfare Madi.
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
Maybe she's just tryin to make some good Burd TV for ya.
ReplyDeleteWow, my human wants to get that hummingbird feeder - we have an ant problem too.
ReplyDeleteIs the shade down, Madi, because like looking at the hummers a bit too much?
ReplyDeleteHow cool and Madi enjoy Bird Tv. Have a tremendous Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I could not imagine what the shadow was! At least you will enjoy the antics of those quick little birds this summer!
ReplyDeleteOh how nifty! Ask your mom to please try take a photo of one them for us.
ReplyDeleteWally & Sammy
Oh, how cool! The ant moat is a great idea to help keep the nectar ready for the hummingbirds.
ReplyDeletewe celebrated a "teaser-thursday" with your thursday thing :o) My dad said that's an antique typewriter and my mom said that's a heraldic sign... ok, hope Santa brings glasses this year for both :o)
ReplyDeletehave a fabulous thursday :o)

We know she is really doing this for you - to give you the most pawsome bird tv ever!
ReplyDeleteAlien bird feeder! run!
ReplyDeleteOK so Now I Know ant moats exist... that is news to me.. LOL... i had no idea what the thing on the shade was, glad it was not the monster it resembled.. we all know whom is loved the mostest in your house.. no doubt about that... starts with and M and ends with and I....
ReplyDeleteThat is a great hummer feeder. We love the moat deal. What a good idea. Madi, we would have terrified too of that shadow on the shade. You all have a good day.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it she loves them more than you and your Dad but it's nice that she takes such good care of them. Cubby has a moat around his food bowl to keep ants away too.
ReplyDeleteWe gave you an award on our blog today. We think someone might have beat us to it though.
Hugs,
your guy Raz and The Florida Furkids
Oh how exciting, you can watch the pretty birdies in comfort inside!

ReplyDeleteMOl I thought maybe a little vase or something - which it kinda is... what a pretty thing and so practical.... Now Madi - I too don't think she loves you and dad less - but that her heart is big enough to encompass others in addition to you both. You have a most wonderful servant whom you perhaps need to give the occasional kudos to... (have I earned more than five bucks yet???).... hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
Not more, maybe as much.....
ReplyDeleteHummers are special birds Madi.
Great bird tv!
ReplyDeleteWe were gonna Guess that it was a Coat of Arms or Family Crest... butt would NEVER have guessed a Stick On UP CLOSE hummingbird feeder!! BUTT since it has an ant MOAT... maybe we weren't TOO far off with our furst though.
ReplyDeleteTHAT is gonna be GRRRREAT fur YOU to watch the little guys when they come to Dine.
We love Hummers too! We've got ton's of feeders set up here for them but the funny thing is.... They like the one from the Dollar Tree the best!
ReplyDeleteWe expect to see a lot of pictures.
Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin
That is a cool hummer feeder! The shadow is funny... I thought it was a coat of arms!
ReplyDeleteWell, at least it gives you more Bird TV to watch:) Mom has a thingie to hold her sponge that attaches like that to the sink wall - but it de-taches more than it stays attached. She may as well just give up on it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Hummer watching.
Woos - Ciara and Lightning
That will be so exciting to watch those birds so close to the window. Hope your mum cleans the windows more often than ours does, hehe.
ReplyDeleteDip and Elliot x
We have two little hummers that come back each year and mom and dad sit out on the porch and watch them all the time, we are forgotten.

No way could Mom love hummingbirds more than you :)
ReplyDeleteOMC! That did look like a scary alien.
ReplyDeleteWow Madi, I am sooo glad that everything is okay at your house!! That was very scary to see and read about'. Whew!! Hugs and wags, Willow
ReplyDeleteThat was spooky looking for sure. Our pawrents love those hummers too.
ReplyDeleteThat will be some fun bird watching! We have a big perennial Fuchsia shrub that the hummers just love. It's fun to watch them on a summer's eve. They are very territorial and get into bird squabbles over that shrub!
ReplyDeleteWe love Longmire too! We just couldn't wait for season 3 on NetFlix and discovered that you can purchase the entire season 3 on I-Tunes for $16. So we purchased it and are streaming from the computer to the TV. I guess Netflix is working on season 4 too...Yippee!!
We love those cute little hummers, too. We can't wait for them to return here.
ReplyDeleteMy dad is a hummer lover. Maybe we will get him that kind of feeder for his upcoming birthday. Thanks for th idea!!
ReplyDeleteThey should be here soon too!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
But Mom put in a home entertainment system for you, Madi. Watching hummers up close and personal should be delightful to you!
