.....the joyous and thrilling thing that has happened!!
Here is the rest of the story as told to Mom by my human Sis aka mom to Frisco!!!!!
Friends who 'speak' cat can see that Frisco is totally smitten and wants to be friends. For my K9 friends who don't 'speak' cat, anytime a cat presents his/her tummy that is a sign of submission and wanting to be friends.
Saturday November 14 sis and BIL went in to PetCo for a bag of kitten food for Frisco. They came out with a sister for Frisco and kitten and cat food. They were not looking for a cat on Saturday.....they did have plans to adopt a second cat.
The rescue was strategically placed at the cat food aisle. Sis said Mia was on display at PetCo with a local cat rescue group. The group periodically visits the county animal shelter and will often take kittens/cats that have been there a long time in hopes of getting the a home. (The Co. Shelter only keep them about 6 weeks) When sis and BIL heard that she was rescued from the Co. Shelter and that she was older (~1 1/2 years) it tugged at Sis's heart. Mom told me sis has always wanted 2 cats. Mia is a Tortoiseshell cat she was named Tori by the rescue group, but SIS queen of giving purrfect names, changed her name Mia. She is rather petite
only 7 lbs. Oh and her back right foot is all tan the rest of her feets are black. Mom and I think Mia is simply gorgeous and for sure
she is one lucky kitty!!
she is one lucky kitty!!
Mia is very gentle, friendly but doesn't know what to think of Frisco. LOL He is a wild child. Mia and Frisco have been gradually getting acquainted under the supervision of SIS and BIL. Frisco follows Mia all over the house presenting his tummy and they have touched noses once or twice. Mia is for sure warming up to the wild child and the meet and greets are going very well.
We leave you with this quote that is always at the bottom of one mom's friend's emails:
"By adopting an animal, you have saved the lives of two; the one you have adopted and the one you have made room for at the shelter." Think Adoption First!
What a beautiful story and I bet they will be super friends in no time at all. They are lucky kitties and Mommy agrees with your Mom about shelter pets.
ReplyDeleteZiggy your brudder Out!!

Mia is lovely! And she looks far more sweet-tempered than a certain tortie I happen to live with.
ReplyDeleteMia is so pretty! Glad she found her furever home!
ReplyDeleteMia looks beautiful, as does Frisco. In fact, they look like the first cats I had: ginger Wuppie and tortoise Mathilda.
ReplyDeleteThe pussycat I have now (Miss Oswin) is my first rescue cat. I have not regretted it yet!!
Awwwwwwwww, Mia is gorgeous. But, I think Frisco is just as handsome as Mia, gorgeous! So the two are PURRfect for each other.
ReplyDelete[My daughter just texted me photos of HER 'new' adopted kitty...Wicket....she looks as if she could be a twin to Mia.]
Congratulations to Frisco. There's going to be some racing around and chasies in that house, we bet. SHE once got two tiny kittens in Virginia, who were displayed under a sign that read 'Born to Die'. How could anyone walk by that. So glad new kitty has a forever home.
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy for Mia and Frisco! We hope they become bestest buddies really soon!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your Human Sis and her hubby for adopting. Mia looks like my Splash and Baby Splash who have gone over the Rainbow Bridge. Frisco, she will learn to love you. Who could not love a yella like you.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to all.
Oh you all have made my heart sing this morning. So glad the Sis adopted Mia. She is just gorgeous. Love the last picture. Frsico is just a wee bit to frisking but Mia will teach him some manners. Please tell the Sis a big thank you from all of us. What a great story. You all have a super Friday..

Welcome Mia! And we think that name suits you better than Tori (also a good name but Mia rocks for you). We hope all the settling in is over quickly.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Mia! The newest Diva!
ReplyDeleteSis needs a bumper magnet like we got after adopting Molly : "who rescued who?"
I think a rescuing a pet you save the human who adopted the pet. LOL
Hugs and nose taps,
Kathy and Molly
That is so darn cool, we're all doing a happy dance!!!
ReplyDeleteAww, what a lovely happy ending! Mia looks so sweet and we don't think there is any need to ask for Frisco's reaction, it is pretty obvious :)

ReplyDeleteOh well done SIS and BIL that is a wonderful thing you have done. Mia, I think you have lucked out, finding such a lovely family.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's so exciting! Congrats to the whole family! Mia sure is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOur great brother Zim (he lost a fight with cancer in April of 2014) tried to teach us all about kit-cats. He LOVED them - and they loved him! Madi, Zim and I would be walking down the street with Mom, and kit-cats would come running up to us, then throw themselves onto their backs right in front of him! (He was that way with all animals, even wild ones.) Mom had never seen that behavior until Zimmie joined the family! He was one very special Siberian!
Cammie!
