Madi's Mom here. Madi absolutely adores this fountain. I might have been almost as upset as she was about this. She drinks 95% of her water from the little slide. This is the part that went kaput!! I put the old one down with just water in it...she went right to the slide...no water. She looked at me like I had a horn growing out of my head. A year ago I bought a new (different style) fountain home. She would not have anything to do with it.
Of course as soon as the stores opened I was going to try to find something as close to this as possible. I did put down some water in a bowl and she drank from it but I could tell she was not thrilled.
At 9:30 I was on the road heading to Pet Supply Plus....
They had a new model of Fresh Flow...it works exactly like Old Faithful and has less parts.

Crikey Madi ..... how good is that? I was real worried there for a while. Thought you were going to die of thirst or something. I'm sure glad you like your new fountain. It looks great. I've got one like your old one. Mum likes the look of your new one. Much easier to clean and use, aye??
ReplyDeleteAND Madi thankyou so much for your comments on my last post. Mum is feeling a lot better now. Once we get home she'll be completely back to normal.
Wow, that's amazing that your fountain lasted so long! Our water out here is so hard and mineralized that even if my human took exemplary care of ours (she doesn't), they only will last maybe three years at the most. Usually not even that long.
ReplyDeletePhew! that was a close run thingy Madi...no water fountain????? That's just not funs at all!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you is all rehydrated....actually...I is kinda finking I'd quite like one of those
Loves and licky kisses

Thank doG you like the new one, Madi! Whew!
ReplyDeleteOh boy - that was a very close call Madi but your Mom came through for you with a suitable replacement for your beloved fountain! Let's hear it for MOM!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sammy
Whew, crisis averted! We just got our first fountain last night, can you believe it? The cats who came before us had one, but it apparently broke and was never replaced. We aren't as excited as you are about it and are eyeing it with suspicion. How long did it take you to fall in love with your fountain?
ReplyDeleteOh such good news that Madi likes her new fountain. Woooo Hoooooo. Drink that water Madi. You all have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYay Madi! Thanks the heavens you approved. Hey, you are a girl who knows what she wants!!!
ReplyDeletePoor Madi, how traumatic to have your fountain die! Good job Mom in finding her a new one.
ReplyDeleteOh how bad that your beloved fountain flow in the river of no return... but the new one looks good too... maybe it even can make meow-garitas and and whiskereys?
ReplyDeleteOMD&C, I was getting so nervous for a moment! I mean, no water bowl fountain for my Madi cat?!? Unacceptable. I am SO glad you found a newer version and that Madi loves it! Yay!
ReplyDeleteoh noooooooo not the fountain. you poor girl... both girls in fact... so glad you found one with a slide water fall. we have been discussing how hard it is to teach an old dog new tricks with Jake, trying to get him exercise without chasing the ball. now we know it is hard to teach and old cat new tricks tooooooo
ReplyDeletei keep forgetting to tell you how wonderful you look in those pink blossoms in the header. wow
MADI... we do LOVE a scary story with a GOOD ending... WOW you could have died of thirst if your mom had not gone on that Mission of Mercy... QUICKLY and SUCCESSFULLY.
ReplyDeleteA Diva likes what a Diva Likes and that is just how it is. WHEW...
Thank goodness Mom bought a new Fresh Flow for the Diva!
ReplyDeleteHugs and nose taps,
Molly and Kathy
Hari OM
ReplyDeleteEgad but you had me going there for a while - very glad for the happy ending!!! hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
PHEW!! I'm so relieved Madi got a proper new fountain.
ReplyDeleteThirteen years is impressive! We're glad Madi likes her new fountain :)
ReplyDeleteWhew! That was a near disaster! If Madi could not have the correct fountain she would have to start drinking bottled water - the expensive kind! Guess what, we are up to 3 candidates now!
ReplyDeleteGlad that your mom found another one similar to what you had!
ReplyDeletehugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
oh there is nothing worse than when a beloved item dies and you buy a replacement hoping beyond hope that it will be accepted.
ReplyDeleteYou know cats...picky about their water!
ReplyDeletethose are so cool, good thing you had a store close by.

Good job your mom found you a new one that you liked. Sadly our beloved things do wear out eventually.
ReplyDeleteMadi I can't believe you're such a fuss pot!
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie (who prefers his water from the dirtiest puddle possible - so much tastier…)
Goodness! That could have been very awkward, Miss Madi! I'm glad the Mom found the correct fountain! WW3 has been averted! Phew! ;) xxx
ReplyDeleteMadi, we think you did a wonderful job training your Mama on how to get you exactly what you wanted in a timely fashion. We would just LOVE to have you teach us ow you do it!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
We're so relieved that you were able to find a suitable replacement for the dead fountain. There would have been serious demerits if Madi had to drink out of a common bowl like the rest of us. BOL!
ReplyDeletemadi.....we iz bizzed happee yur mom waz abe bull ta findz ewe a new fountin sorta kinda all most eggz act lee like yur new !!! YAY !!!! purrhaps de slide on de fav o rite one just kneadz a new motorz?? then ya can haz two !!! ♥♥♥

DeleteYou had good service from your old fountain. Madi. I am glad your mum was able to get another one the same.
ReplyDeleteWhew, that was a great find, Mom. We don't always like new things either. Hmmm, we are thinking maybe Mom needs to look for one of those cool water dispensers for us too. We like our water cold and fresh too.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
WHEW~!!! We're so glad your mom was able to find a suitable substitute!
ReplyDeleteWe have two water bowls, side by side. We only drink from the left-hand bowl, though -- until Mom decides "Oh, they never use this one, I should streamline and only have one bowl down" -- then we like the right-hand one. Ha roo roo roo.
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
I had to chuckle when you said Madi likes watching the ripples. Last week on NATURE on PBS they had a program on the snow monkeys in Japan. It gets very cold there in the mountain habitat and they go to the warm springs even in winter. This one female loved to make bubbles and watch them in the water. Made me think of Madi.
ReplyDeleteWhew....we're glad you found a replacement!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, your guy Raz and The Florida Furkids
Hooray for Mom, I'm so glad she found something you like sweet Madi!
ReplyDeleteWhoohoo! Glad you like your new fountain!
ReplyDeleteWe can't believe the first fountain lasted 13 1/2 years!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad you found one like the favorite one. That is amazing that the first one lasted that long. We bought a fountain for the first time for the kitties, and Abbey especially really likes it.
ReplyDeleteMadi is lucky to have such a good Mom to go get her a new fountain right away. Glad Madi approved of the new one.
