Recently Mr. Green Jeans (if you were born in the late 40's to mid 50's you know who he is if not Google it) aka Dad came home with this box of plants and flowers.
The black cat is my snoopervision understudy
I thought it looked pretty nice just like it was but Dad had other plans.
This lady got a new hair style...she is now sporting a 'do' of Ajuga
She has company of Black eyed Susans, panises and some perennials
The happy pumpkin/witch lantern is on the front porch now
and our tin pumpkin is living in the bed of periwinkle
I heard a faint Ut oh from the out of doors. Dad thought he bought more plants
than he had pots...but Mom found this lovely green ceramic pot.
Here is a close up both are in the Heuchera Hybrid family
The green is called Lime Rickey the reddish one is Berry Smoothie
they sound good enough to drink!!
Mom and I think Dad is King of Potted plant arrangements
This concludes the tour; however, there will be at least one more after Dad finds just the right
plant for the planters on the deck. Our house faces north so we don't get lots of sun for in ground
plants. Everything we buy is either partial sun or shade loving.
Thank you for taking the tour
PS thankfully Hurry cane Matthew did not destroy any of our plants.
I'm glad the hurricane spared your plants! Plus you have some nice potted arrangements now!

Too bad, he cannot attend the huge Fall Garden Fest here in MS this week.
What a nice garden!
ReplyDeleteMadi, can you send your dad down here so he can make some beautiful potted arrangements for us. My Ma and daddy-dog are terrible with plants.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! My momma kills potted plants. She doesn't kill them (as much) if they're in the ground, but the pots turn her into a harbringer of death!
ReplyDeleteOh Madi those are beautiful arrangements! We are so glad that bad bad Matthew didn't do anything to your yard. We are still cleaning up from his visit and putting back outside our pants and outdoor art.
ReplyDeleteMama says she remembers Mr. Green Jeans...she is probably s old as the dirt in some of your Daddy's planters!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a most beautimous garden tour, Madi!! Thanks so much for bringing us along!!

How nice to have a fall update in the flower department. All the pots look great, we love the lady's new do:) All our pots are empty except for the mums that have been very slow to open. Soon we hope. We are glad to know you are all safe after that mean old Matthew.

Your dad, like ours, is the one with the green thumb in the family. Our mom says that even those of us born in the 60's are quite familiar with Mr. Green Jeans.

We know Mr Green Jeans....bwahaahaa! But we didn't know he had green thumbs, too.
ReplyDeleteGhostwriter knows who Mr. Green Jeans is! Thanks for the tour of your lovely garden. We're all glad you didn't get any hurricane damage. Our Jessy in Boca Raton had to move all her potted plants out of the wind. So she put them in her car which she left by her house during the storm so they wouldn't become flying projectiles in the wind. She says now her car smells like a greenhouse!
ReplyDeleteThose are just FABulous gurl!!!! I thinks your Pops needs to come here and teach Ma how to grow plants in her pots, cause most of them die a slow and painful death.....☺
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
