Our daffodills started popping thru the pine straw the week after February Flower Friday
MOL
This is our first one to have a bud
then to burst open with glorious yellow others are popping thru all over the as of February 18.
We were worried about our lovely red Camellia due to the very very cold 10 days we had in January.but ooooh Cammie the Camellia didn't let us down.
This is the view we have coming out of the front door
and there are just as many ravishingly red blooms on the front.
Jewel Orchid from Gigi Google to show you the beautiful leaves
I've always wanted an orchid..actually had one years ago that I "loved to death".
February 24, 2018 I saw this Jewel Orchid at Logan's Trading Company.
I didn't write the following paragraph but it is exactly what happened to me.
Click link below to read all about them.
Jewel Orchid Care
This is a story of the little jewel orchid that grew up to be a champion. I first saw my little Ludisia Discolor on the out of bloom table at a local floral nursery. It was after the holidays, after the normal blooming season for Ludisia here in the Mid Atlantic area and the nursery was clearing out the extra orchid stock that had not sold.Velvet-soft burgundy striped leaves caught my attention out of the corner of my eye and I walked over to have a look.

We thought it would be fun to have all my friends tell about learning to drive: if your parents taught you, if you went to driver's ed and the fun or not so fun things that might have happened. Another idea would be to
tell about a road trip that stands out in your mind as memorable, good or bad or funny.
Doesn't have to be long.

wow that are a lot flowers for march... we love that your camellia is such a trooper... our two trees are more wimps, they lost the battle with jack frost and all what we have are greasy wet brown buds we have to remove from the ground now....
ReplyDeleteLovely to see the Spring flowers. Still waiting here...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend with Sissy and BIL.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
PS Gail has been v. busy at work this week and I'm hoping she'll get organised for the Road Trip.
We love the flowers,Madi...and you <3 and we can't wait to find them in our garden too, but I guess we have to wait a little longer...sigh... Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend :) <3
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers! Yes, Spring is just about here. Our mom wants to know if you have problems attracting stingy bugs with them ? Our first spring here, we had SO MANY due to the house high bushes out front, that also flowered. Wasps, hornets and bees congested the front porch daily. Blessedly, the owner removed both last fall, prior to the hideous roof replacement.
ReplyDeleteMom can't wait to see daffies blooming here and your camellia is gorgeous! Do you think mom can get an orchid to bloom? She might NEED to try that next *wink wink*

ReplyDeleteNow I got flower envy! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

Happy weekend.
We love daffodils....they make Mom smile. The only plants Mom does well with is Orchid plants because they thrive on neglect.
ReplyDeleteRaz wanted to remind you that the Scouts Birthday party is on Sunday. The theme is dinosaurs.
Hugs,
your guy Raz and The Florida Furkids
You are so lucky to have all those flowers. We are getting more snow today so it will be quite a while before anything starts popping out of the ground.
ReplyDeleteMomma is starting to think that we need to plant some flowers at our new house! There's lots of greenery, but no COLOR!
ReplyDeleteWow! You have flowers! Hooray! We have nothing but snow!
ReplyDeleteAm all set for your birf-day, Madi! Vroom, vroom! We have oceans of periwinkles...which will be up in a month or so. I love the petal colors, and the dark green leaves are pretty all warm-weather long!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! We thin you have more flowers than we do after our cold snap! Mama just loves your Cammies...and we really like your Jewel Orchid!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Rosy, Arty & Jakey
Oh wow, look at all the beautiful blooms. Our hyacinth bulbs are poking through the ground but nowhere near ready to show us any blooms. Mom has one orchid left, just a little one, but it is starting to send out a shoot that will have flowers. This morning she tossed a very sick looking African violet - time for her to make a trip to a GOOD nursery:) Mom is in love with your Camellia.

Oh my goodness - it's SPRING time there! Look at your daffies and Cammellias, and periwinkle. Wow! And I love your orchid. It's a lot like our wild one called a "Fairy Slipper" except that there's only one bloom per stalk on the Fairy Slipper. We won't see them for a while yet so thanks for tiding me over until then.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. I love that the orchid is non-toxic. XO
