Thoroughly Poetic Pictorial Thursday

Today we join Two  SPOILED CAT
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

This was a very WET picture!!

by Mom with Madi's assistance

As you can see, this is a picture of the sea.
Rest assured that speck in the sea is not me.
You see I have a see-cret about the sea.
Only my toes goes in the sea.
My toes I must clearly see or else the sea is not for me.
As a child, a visit to see the sea gave me much glee.
I waded waist high with the sun in the sky.
I squealed as the waves made it difficult to see.
My toes loved the feel squishy wet sand.
Then one summer, in the middle of July, the sight I saw
in the sea gave me such a fright.
No matter how hard I wished. there was no way I could
all those (Portuguese) Man of War jelly fish floating about like they
owned the sea.
From that day forward being in the sea was not for me.

Atlantic Beach, Morehead City, NC

  1. My human used to enjoy the sea too... don't know what happened, but she never goes anymore, and even if she does, she doesn't go in the water.

  2. being in da sea is also not for me... I'm rather a beachboy suntanned and proud and I bark out that loud ;O)

  3. I am totally with you! Loved your poem!

  4. Wonderful poetry butt...this Princess is not one fur getting those Princess Slippers wet, I'm gonna sit this one out, on the beach wiv you Madi
    Loves and licky kisses
    Princess Leah xxx

  5. Great picture and even better poem. Well done Madi and Mom. You all have a terrific Thursday.

  6. I completely agree! I can understand how jelly fish can ruin the whole pleasure of the sea. I am content to walk along the beach and let the sea curl around my ankles, certainly no higher than my knees! A smile worthy poem Madi and Mom. I enjoyed it! Good Morning!

  7. I am just like you MOM... we have those jelly fish PLUS we have sting rays, that hide in the sand. I only cover the toes when i wade... and never swim in the gulf. i have seen hubby wade out right through a school of jelly fish or sting rays... he is crazy. the photo today scares me silly. waves scare me worse than jelly fish

  8. Hari OM
We had all that plus sharks in OZ - but I still loved to get into the waves... but here in the Bonny Land, I's just happy to watch the water... so I'll join you in just seeing the sea... hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  9. That was a great poem for the way to much water photo!

  10. I fully agree. I don't get in the water. When baby sister was a baby, the family was at a pond fishing. Us kids were playing in the water. I was watching BJ, I looked down and nearly added water to the pond. A water moccasin was in the water a foot from out toes. It scared the beetle juice out of me. From that time on, no more playing in the water for me.

  11. That picture gives us heart palpitations. We liked your poem and if we ever got to the sea we might dip our paws in to see what it is like.

  12. EEEEKKK....that would have scared our Mom too!!
    your guy Raz and

    The Florida Furkids

  13. That's a great poem. Ghostwriter says she feels the same way. She's only just had her feet in the sea, but that's all. (But that's probably because she doesn't own a bathing suit.)

  14. Yep, blobs of goo and stinging tentacles give me the willies too!

  15. Great poem, I can see why one wouldn't like the sea after that.XO

  16. Our mom is not a water person and those jelly fish would give us the willies too

  17. madi.....we agreez !!! but due not forgetz all de trout salmon N other tastee ocean dwellerz !!! total lee grate poem two day ~~~~ ☺☺♥♥♣♣

  18. Superbly done, bravo!!! Mom always loved the beach and keeps thinking she would love to visit it again. But then she hates the hot sun, so maybe not:)

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  19. What a pawsome poem Madi(and Mom)!! Mama saw Jaws when she was a wee lass and that kept her out of the sea for about 25 years...and THEN she started going under the waves...and NOW if she is anywhere near warm water she will hop right in with her scuba gear!!
    Rosy, Arty & Jakey

  20. I am totally with you Madi.
    No sea for me!
    Toodle pip!

  21. We don’t even put our toes in the sea, Madi!

  22. No, nope, nada! I want to see what I am standing in and jellyfish would be a no-go for me. We do hope to go to Galveston or Corpus Christi this summer but I'm not sure about venturing out in the water.

  23. Nopes, I would nevers VOLUNTARILY gets any part of my furs wet!!!! Sometimes I can't help it, butts no way Jose!
    Ruby ♥

  24. Those critters are SCARY and HURT when they bite so I'm definitely not going to be heading into the surf. No way. Especially not as a surfer dood like in the photo (which was truly scary!). Loved your poem though - I think most of us kitties agree that the "SEA IS NOT FOR ME" !!!

    Love, Teddy
