Train Brain: Ode to Dad
By Madi and Mom
Trains of all sizes, shapes and colors are Dad's thing.
His hobby though is small trains.
Tools of his trade can be found
here and there and all around.
What they do .... I have no clue.
But that is ok 'cause Dad DO.
He works magic
You see he is an O scale model train man with a plan.
The pieces are so tiny he needs a
high power lamp, itty bitty screw drivers
and lots of clamps
Once I even saw him with a saw.
He orders brass shells,
carefully adds details
he solders on parts and pieces
making them exact replicas
of big trains.
I must confess his train room can be a mess
We don't touch any piles because it might cause him stress.
I know MY DAD IS A GENIUS at this because mom calls him
a Train Brain.
My human always wanted to have model trains... although it is probably a little late for her to get started now!

ReplyDeleteI'm impressed, Madi. With the trains. Your ode to them also, but particularly with the trains!!! &*> Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
oh I guessed it that was the bestest prompt for an ode to your daddy...and I always remember how your dad included the Diva in his hobby with using a whisker of you...that's sweet, isn't it?...and a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great poem and we just KNEW that you'd get your Dad's "habit" involved with your poem. It's a fabulous poem and the photos are very cool. My Dad studied them as he's not got a train setup but he still has his trains from a bazillion years ago when he was also a "train brain"!
ReplyDeleteWell done Madi..
Love, Teddy
Great poem, Madi! Your dad's trains are beautiful and works of art!
ReplyDeleteThat truly is a wonderful poem and it is so good to see the trains again. That must be so much fun for the Dad to play with the trains. You all have a fantastic day.
