Silly Saturday: Cat and Mouse

On September 25, was hair cut day.  Our hair dresser, Debra, volunteers with a animal rescue group and fosters cats.  She was trying her best to get us to adopt Miss B a 17 lb,5 year old...she looks like a Siamese/Maine Coon mix.  However, before she tried to get me to adopt her she told me that Miss B wakes her up every morning at 3 am by tapping her on the head.  I cannot even imagine a 17 lb cat tapping me at 3 am I'd probably be kissing the ceiling.  At first Debra thought she was hungry but nope she wants a head scratching.  I told her thanks but no thanks.  I'm not say NEVER but I'm saying NOT RIGHT NOW!!

  1. I love Garfield! His Christmas special is one of my all-time favorites. You'll know when it's time and Madi will send you the "chosen" one. ♥

  2. I've always been grateful that Bertie is not one of those pets who wakes you up in the night demanding attention. In fact he is much more inclined than me to want a morning lie in!
    Cheers, Gail.

  4. The first strip reminds me of Disneyland. Apparently, they support a fairly large feral community - mainly to keep the mice under control ... but I can't help but think that's pretty ironic.

  5. Dad: Hmm, almost sounds like someone I know over here, except instead of head tapping it's walking all around us trying to find the best spot to annoy us...

  6. that is the very reason I have never had a cat. my cousin had cats and dogs and when I would do a sleep over the cat walked on me all night long. I am a light sleeper. thanks for the early am chuckles.. I love Garfield..

  7. No, I wouldn't want a 17 pound cat waking me up either. There are lots of kitties out there so no hurry. You all have a great day.

  12. Those two cartoons made us smile. Poor Garfield must be mortified (or is that mousified?).

  13. We don't think we would like a kitty waking us up at 3am either. Angel Madi will send you the right kitty when the time is right for you.

  14. Cute comics. That is early to get up. I agree with Millie and Walter, Madi will send you the kitty for you when she finds one. XO

  15. I used to get 23 pounds of Eric stomping across my head at 3am, and Flynn would stand on my chest and headbutt me to let me know they were hungry. That was when I started putting a small amount of kibble down when I went to bed every night. It worked in as much that they then let me sleep until 4am!

  17. Ehat a combo Siamese and Maine Coon. One big girl that likes to have her own way. Shoko tends to tap me on the shoulder at 3am and 4 am. You get used to it. This is Shoko's lovin' time. I have fallen back to sleep petting her. lol

  19. Love the cartoons!!! For one of my spine surgeries, my surgeon showed up wearing a Sponge Bob head thingy - it was hilarious and your cartoon reminded me of it. Also, I'm glad that you know what you want, or what you don't want right now. You'll know when the time is right.

  21. Great cartoons! I imagine Miss B would be quite a character to have in the house - but you will know when the time is right for you to join the kitty cat world again. I'm sure Angel Madi is looking for the RIGHT match!!!

  22. As almost everybody here has said you will know when it is right and I believe Madi will send a kitty that she knows is right. 17 pounds is a lot of kitty... Z Cat stayed pretty close to 8 pounds and that was pretty heavy when she was on my lap and her plan was to spend the day there!

  23. Love the cartoons. As for considering adopting a cat/kitten right after losing Madi. Kudos to you for you considering. Like Pix Under the Palm Fronds said, 17 pounds is a lot of kitty. I know, I used to own a 20 pound pure white cat. Thankfully she didn't pat us on the head but did get under beds and couches and go after your toes and feet. You'll know the right time because instead of a you finding a cat/kitten a cat/kitten will find and choose you. Best Wishes and Good Luck.

  25. Some folks need to get another cat or dog right away. Others, like me, need to give it time. You will know when it's right.

  26. I LAUGHED! Katie taps me but she waits till about 6:30-7.00

  27. I hope that kitty cat finds a good home. Ghostwriter says she would NOT be very happy about getting woken up at 3am! But I'm sure, with angel Madi's help, you'll find the best new kitty cat for you.
