Mom and Dad took little Brudder Rocky to the vet Wednesday, May 13
Unfortunately we got some very unexpected and sad news:
Sweet Rocky tested “weak positive” for Feline leukemia.
After careful consideration, and with guidance from our vet, Rocky will stay isolated from Pup and (especially) me for 4 weeks, and be retested.
We know this story will probably not have a happy ending, but Mom has felt so helpless with all the sadness in the world, she has to give Rocky a chance.
Rocky is a happy, playful, loving kitty, and he’s going to have the best 4 weeks of his life. 😻
He likes to sleep on shelf in mud room, but his bed kept slipping off. Dad fixed him up! ❤️
As you can see from this video Rocky is a happy little guy. He has for sure learned all about
unconditional love of a family.
I, Kat, Mom, Dad, and Pup thank you for your kind welcoming to Rocky on Monday
We certainly would appreciate 🙏🙏prayers and positive thoughts.
❤️ Kat Your Feline Nephew
Dearest Nephew...

You know how very dear your Mom and Dad and you and Pup are to me and Dad of Angel Madi;
We will keep Rocky and all of you in our purrs.

Please keep us posted on how Rocky is doing.
we send lots of potp and we hope for the best... such sad news.... but maybe a little miracle will happen...
ReplyDeleteRocky is such a handsome dude! We hope he hangs in there. Our human doesn't know much about the subject - but there are so many resources in the cat blogging community. I'm going to e-mail you one such discussion.
ReplyDeleteAwww, we're so sorry to hear that about Rocky. Sending purrs.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear such sad news. As it was a weak positive and he is young it could be he has a regressive infection which would give hope. Or it could be a false positive reading hence the retesting a month later.
ReplyDeleteI send my very best wishes for good news for Rocky.
We send you tons of AireZen and positive vibes, Rocky. You are such a handsome kitty!
ReplyDeleteRocky is adorable and looks so peaceful in that wee video. We send him and his new family loads of love and virtual hugs from Scotland.
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!

ReplyDeleteawww our thoughts and prayers are with you and Rocky...may he get better while peaceably resting . Such a sweet orange kitty.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying it is a false positive. As long as you are vaccinated against it, you can be together.
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful news, Ellen!
DeleteThat is sad news...but if his life is to be short, he's in the right place with lots of love.
ReplyDeleteWe are so sad to hear about Rocky. We don't know much about feline leukemia, but we hope the vet will be able to help him. Lots of POTP headed his way.
ReplyDeleteWoos, Lightning and Timber
We are also sad to hear that Rocky is sick, and we are sending lots of POTP his way. We know KAt's pawrents are going to shower him with all the love and affection he can stand!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
We have our paws crossed for Rocky and hope he has a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for this news. From what I've read though, even with a positive result, as long as he's otherwise healthy, it doesn't have to be a bad ending.
ReplyDeleteWe are sending purrayers and POTP to sweet Rocky. But we have had feleuk cats live with us and they lived long happy lives and the other cats did too. It is not as big a threat as was first believed, and not a death sentence. And Rocky cannot infect Pup no matter what !
ReplyDeleteOh no. How heartbreaking. We are sending you lots of prayers. Hopefully you will get a miracle. If not then Rocky will become part of Maddie's family at the Bridge.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad diagnosis for sweet Rocky but as others above have said - feline leuk kitties can live long and very happy lives - we hope he will - don't give up on him as it's not something Pup can get. Hoping for the BEST !
ReplyDeleteLove, Teddy
Great news about good possibility of long and happy life. Also that if Pup and Kat are vaccinated they can be a family!
DeleteMay there be a miracle...
ReplyDeleteWe're sending purrs and prayers to Rocky. We loved hearing his purr.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
We're bundling up all the purrs and purrayers we can and sending them your way too.
