Lovely poem. Gail well remembers the spinning and the grinning. (When Gail was about six years old, one of her father's friends took her for a ride on a 'Wild Mice' roller coaster at the seaside, and she was so scared, absolutely terrified, that for about five years afterwards the only fairground ride she would go near was 'the horses'!)
Love the poem and also love the 'round'round name for the carousel. Thanks for playing poetry with Angel Sammy on Thursdays - you always knock it out of the park! :)
Mom always loved the carousel, or merry-go-round as she called it. There was an amusement park very close to her home called Riverside Park, now a Six Flags, and she had certain favorite horses on the carousel - the ones with lots of beautiful colors of paint - and the horse HAD to go up and down!!!
Ma said when she was a wee lass, she used to go on the merry-go-round all the time! she and her brudder would see who could gets the bestest horsie ~ it was usually 50-50 ☺ Such a FABulous poem! Kisses, Ruby ♥
