Lake Lynn Trail is a 2.6 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Raleigh, North Carolina that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This is my header photo too. |
I was so excited about the trip around the Trail at Lake Lynn (which we took on 4/14).
I wrote HER from Downunder Daisy this email exactly as it is below. See if you see what SHE saw.
Tobi
The number of critters out this morning was amazing. Mr. and Mrs. Mallard and their twelve ...12 ducklings. The geese that were formerly Canadian but are now NC natives, a Great glue heron. Lots of puppies walking turtles oh my

SHE is a retired teacher. I think SHE was wearing HER teacher glasses when SHE read it she replied:
Oh My....a GLUE heron? Puppies walking turtles? Cecilia are you having Happy Hour by any chance?
I replied oh you found out my secret, this is hilarious I think I will use it on the first Lake Lynn post. Proof positive commas are impawtant and proof reading
I meant Great Blue Heron and puppies walking, and turtles.
First post Lake Lynn is dedicated to K9's
We did see lots of puppies walking people...but not walking turtles!!
We saw more pups; however, they were coming toward us. We thought their peeps might not want their photo taken
Of course Kitties must be represented here too~~
This was 100% how Angel Madi felt.
Miscellaneous from Lake Lynn |
When I read what you wrote, I didn't notice the lack of punctuation or the "glue." Here in St. Louis, between the Missouri and the Mississippi, we have quite a few blue herons - they are known to feed on koi ponds too (can you imagine the smorgasbord presented to a blue heron with a small pond loaded with fish?). In fact, that's the only reason I know they are here - the nursing home where my Mom was until she died had a koi pond and couldn't figure out where all the fish were going. One morning, a nurse caught the heron red-beaked.
ReplyDeleteThat's absolutely hilarious. In my mind the beautiful Lake Lynn train will always feature puppies walking turtles. On leash of course!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail (shortly to take Bertie for a walk along the river in search of a glue heron).
hahaha love it!!! and we love to see a heron... that's always a special moment...

ReplyDeleteLOL... oh I can't laugh. Some of my typos make me cringe!!! YAM xx
That email made me laugh! I must admit I always notice spelling mistakes and lack of commas, but the puppies walking turtles had me confused.
ReplyDeleteI won't use auto correct as it tries to make me use US English, so I always check before I publish. That doesn't mean I don't sometimes make mistakes though.
We all have our typo moments. Miss Tobi is too funny☺
ReplyDeleteI like the whole idea of puppies walking turtles! I did pick up right away on the Great Glue Heron. We had a Great Blue Heron... we named him Horatio, he had a big fish right in front our lanai yesterday at wine time. It was a BIG fish but he worked and worked and down the fish went with the tail of the fish still flipping around a bit!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, she is funny.
ReplyDeleteThat cartoon is true.
What a great place to take a stroll.
Too funny. That does look like such a great place to hike. Hope all of you have a super day. Loved the pictures.
ReplyDeleteCommas sure do make a sentence read differently, don't they? We sure did get a chuckle about the "puppies walking turtles". It looks like everyone was enjoying a nice day for a walk.
ReplyDeleteMOL @ puppies walking turtles!!! Mom often uses voice to text and forgets to proofread before she hits "send" which leads to some interesting messages.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
Those were great photos and "they" do call it happy hour for a reason MOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful area to get some fresh air and some exercise. Beautiful.

You have totally caused me to laugh out loud and startle the cat! I LOVED the little errors in punctuation! Made the blog and I am still smiling like you've not seen. Well, I guess not as we haven't met but I feel as though we have! XX

ReplyDeleteI know someone who thinks the blue herons on the lake where I used to boat are actually pterodactyls.
ReplyDeleteThat’s too funny!! Bentley could have been in that cartoon! He demands breakfast but will let me go back to sleep after he’s been fed. Haha!
