We get herons here also. They fly down to the ponds and take the carp. There is chicken netting all the way round now because they don't like to fly in, but land on the edge and wade in. It seems to have stopped them.
I love the herons!!!! To my utter surprise, a great blue heron did an emergency landing on a pond in the woods here during a thunder storm. It's the first time that I've ever seen one here.
Oh, those are beautifuls!!!! We don't have those here, butts we have parrots! one came and drank outta my fountain yesterday, butts Ma was too slow with the camera and didn't gets it. sigh. what am I gonna do with her??? I likes those turtles! glads it wasn't an alligator! BOL! Kisses, Ruby ♥

Real turtles in real nature? Wow, I am quite jealous. I only ever see them in zoos and garden centers.

ReplyDeleteI can see why you thought that turtle was an alligator. We have one-legged ducks in lakes off of the Tennessee River because of turtles!
