FYI: the bottom right photo is a turtle sunning on a limb.

  3. Real turtles in real nature? Wow, I am quite jealous. I only ever see them in zoos and garden centers.

  7. Love those birds! We had a Blue Heron at our lake the other day, don't see that very often!

  8. We get herons here also. They fly down to the ponds and take the carp. There is chicken netting all the way round now because they don't like to fly in, but land on the edge and wade in. It seems to have stopped them.

  14. I can see why you thought that turtle was an alligator. We have one-legged ducks in lakes off of the Tennessee River because of turtles!

  15. I love the herons!!!! To my utter surprise, a great blue heron did an emergency landing on a pond in the woods here during a thunder storm. It's the first time that I've ever seen one here.
