Thoroughly Thankful Poetic Thursday #46

Today we join Two  SPOLED CATS

Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is today's inspiration

Hold my hand
my dear Man
I've got a tight grip
 I don't want to fall
My gown might rip
or even worse my CAN

Thankful Thursday for my husband, who just like the picture, takes me on fun treks and
adventures and of course there are always pictures. (Rest assured neither of us would be on a skate board.  LOL).  No trails were taken due to
trails being too wet and full of debris from T. S. Eta
Monday, November 16, we took such a trip.
About 20 miles north of our house

Falls Lake State Recreation Area is

38,000 acres of aquatic paradise offering recreations 7 different recreation areas swimming, boating, fishing, mountain bike and walking trails and picnic shelters.  We will be going back to take trails but today I'm showing you the area around the welcome center.

The lake is named for the Falls of the Neuse, a once whitewater section of the river that fell from the Piedmont into the lower Coastal Plain submerged during construction of the lake.

The lake provides drinking water for several of the surrounding communities, including the city of Raleigh, aids with flood control and serves as a recreation area and wildlife habitat.

Work on the dam that holds the lake began in 1978 and was completed in 1981.

Thursday, November 12, T.S. Eta dumped 5" of rain over Casa de Angel Madi
Judging by the flooded floating deck, Falls Lake obviously rec'd a fair share of rain too

  1. love it... and the name falls lake fits LOL

  2. Hari Om
thanks for sharing the history as well as these stunning views - and I could totally see you on a skateboard!!! YAM xx

  3. The lake looks lovely, and such a beautiful blue sky.

  4. Love your poem and the picture. I wouldn't be in that position ever either! Falls Lake is just beautiful.

  5. Yep, ETA was still pretty much full of herself by the time she got to you. I so enjoy the Lake pictures. I think the water calls to you just like it calls to us. It is a beautiful source of calm. I am going to check out the map again and see the water areas. I had no idea how many Lakes you had close to you!

  6. Cute poem... hahaha, love the picture.
Whoa! That's a lot of water.

  7. That sure is a pretty lake area and your poem was purrfect! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  8. What a beautiful place to visit. We can't wait to see what else is there when it dries out a bit.

  9. To your poem I'd add: don't break your hip!

The Lake looks so pretty! It must have been a big project to build it.

  10. I thought the same thing as easy Ted about the name Falls Lake how appropriate! It really is beautiful. We have one here and it's a fishing camp but the reservoir that furnishes all the water for our County. I've often wondered if fish are swimming around and the water we drink haha kinda icky. You would never catch me on that skateboard even with somebody holding my hand and the neither one of them look like they could hold the other one up but it is an absolutely adorable picture

  11. Oldsters don't bounce like kidlets do!
I've never been skateboarding, but as a kid and young adult, I would much fun!

  12. Love your poem. You made me laugh out loud.

I love your trips too. I think I'll get hubby to take me out and about soon.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, honey. Big hugs. ♥

  15. What a beautiful recreational area!! We love seeing the places B takes you :-)

  16. Five inches of rain!
And we thought it rained a lot in Scotland...
What a lovely recreation area though.

  17. Another beautiful place you visited!!! You and hubby have great trips together.
