June 26, 2009 Madi and I jumped into the WWW
with all 6 feet. From that day to this day each moment has been
MERRY AND BRIGHT
thanks to each of you my
Blog Friends!!🎅
You are truly special.
On Tuesday December 22 I noticed several of our Camellia buds were
showing itty bitty bits of red.
Thursday, December 24, lo and behold Ruby Red my sweet Camellia
has her first bloom
I don't recall Ruby blooming in December. She usually has her first bloom late
January. Ruby is full of buds so heads up...you'll be seeing lots of
her on Nature Fridays in 2021.
No Final Friday Fiction today; however, YAM our FFF hostess suggested we post
holly in honor of the day. We have a holly bush in the back yard !!
Top left photo is of a 'volunteer' holly bush that popped up in our backyard about 10 years ago. It had a perfect shape we we have left it to do it's thing.
In all these years, it has never had berries until this year.!!

What a pretty camellia - just in time for Christmas! Your holly is very pretty too - we had been told when we planted hollies that you had to have male and female trees in order to get berries - maybe you had some help from birds in bringing pollen to yours!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
A very Merry Christmas wish to you all
ReplyDeleteWe've discovered lots of holly trees in our neighborhood that we never knew were holly trees because they never had berries. (It takes a lot for me to recognize what a plant is, LOL.) Your plants are so nice and are only going to get prettier. And yes, blog friends are the "cat's meow." (or the dog's bark, which isn't really a saying, but Lucy and Xena think should be!)
ReplyDeleteOhhh, your camellias are lovely. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOh Ma's camellia is doin' the same! LOTS of buds! Butts, none have opened yet....paws crossed!! Yes! Bloggie furiends like you are just the bee's knees!! You makes all of us smile with your pawsome pictures and FABulous stories! 🤩
ReplyDeleteI hopes you and your hubby and your family had a wonderful Christmas!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
