The Bluffs Lodge and Coffee Shop opened in 1947 when Doughton Park was still call the Bluffs Park. They were an institution along the Blue Ridge Park way until being closed in 2011. These are the last unused photos in from my June 2021 vacation file.
For Three Million bucks this beautiful land could be yours
The Lodge has a serious case of mold, more than likely it will have to be torn down.

Note from the nephews regarding the adorable ladybug rocks on yesterday's post.
Their peeps collected the rocks during their trip to Colorado this past spring.
When they got home, they artistically turned them into ladybugs
If you missed seeing them, here is the photo again.

That's a shame about the mold. yup, would have to win the lottery to buy a place like that.
ReplyDeleteWOW.....love the ladybug rocks but we'll pass on buying the moldy Lodge and Coffee Shop. My Mom and Dad's favorite Lodge eating spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway here in Virginia is open but crowded!

ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that such a great place was left to deteriorate. We agree with MadSnapper that the price tag for that place is just a bit too high for our budget.
ReplyDeleteThat is some place for the money, too bad about the mold though.
ReplyDeleteMold is not a good thing. What a beautiful place though.
