Motto: feel good recipes
In anticipation of 'In Purrsuit of Flavors', I prepared this recipe about a month ago and REMEMBER to take photos.
It is easy, very refreshing, good for you and thus it is a feel good recipe no cooking and there is enough for several meals.
a jar of happiness ;O) love the recipe... even when I'm also no fan of raw onions. I smash them in a blender ;O)
ReplyDeleteWe have a tree full of shoes in our town, but it is where a lot of young people hang out. The young people are probably enough to deter any critters from coming anyway.

That looks so yummy and easy. I'm not a fan of raw onions either and that's where Mrs Dash's onion seasoning comes in really handy!
ReplyDeleteJune says since her used-to-be-name was "Chowder" she's not so sure about foodz named chowder, but her human says it sounds very good ...
ReplyDeleteAs for the pie-pans, we'd welcome critters, not chase 'em away!
Love black eyed peas. Can't do raw onions anymore... I miss them but the tummy doesn't like them. I am sure it would be just as good without them. I can't imagine pie plates would discourage determined critters. Our critters would probably play with them! Good Morning!
ReplyDeleteI had to read about the pie tins in the tree. Makes sense now.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of this dish at all. I'd like to try it.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Big hug, honey. ♥
That does look good. I would probably use the black eye peas.
ReplyDeletei love crowder peas and have had none for many years, since i lived at home with mother. no onions for me, but with those out would like this. love black eye peas also but have never tried them cold. daddy hung those pie pans to keep critters out of his garden, he used chicken pot pie pans a lot
ReplyDeleteThose pie pans hanging from the tree look funny but hopefully they are working for the home owners. We've never heard of crowder peas. That recipe sounds delish!

My hubby has used pie pans in the garden for years- they deter the deer, most of the time.

ReplyDeleteCrowder peas? Not something I've come across before, but the salad sounds yummy.

The salad sounds good, but no raw onions for me either.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever tasted field peas...the salad does look nummy!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good mix recipe! Hey, we used to have a Pan Tree in our yard when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteWe are more of a Meat household but interesting recipe
ReplyDeleteThose look cool
