We loved when the Good Humor truck (we called him the ding-dong man) made his way through the neighborhoods when we were kids. Love that bike!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw Ten-A-Sea I thought, by golly, I saw that too...and for goodness sake it was one I sent!
ReplyDeleteClearRun reminded me immediately of a river with rapids. Not sure why.
ReplyDeletei have only seen these bikes in movies, never in real life.. maybe its too hot in the deep south for these. we did have icecream trucks playing music , but I never bought anything.
ReplyDeleteHari OM
ReplyDeleteThe very first thought that came into mind on seeing the bike was 'Mary Poppins' - probs because of the brolly. OOOHH PLates... Ready, steady, go!
#1 - I am thinking the owner might be an ant exterminator
#3 - Hummel is a German sportwear brand - maybe an agent?
#4 - Kentucky Educational Television - yes, it's a thing!
#6 - Has to be very personal because that is definitely mispelling SQUAWK...
#9 - could just be the generic in reference to having a traffic-free journey, but the term is also used by many commercial enterprises in various ways (hypehentated, singleword, double capitals...)
#10 - There are Sparklyn hotels all over Nigeria; also a lady selling jewellery via Facebook under this name.
#12 - I would interpret this as the owner being 'one from Maine'
#13 - USMA is Westpoint! so am guessing Form 1 graduated 1972? (or was student 72 of the form)
#15 - actually more likely to be the internet slang "Oh My Days!" (oh my dog is niche to Blogvillagers!!!)
#18 - More likely to be a follower of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (spirirual leader)
#25 - could be - but this is also a handle for game play...
#26 - the most common use of the acrnym is for "Back To Reality"; but might also be include "Born To Run", "Bring to Budget" or "Beginner To Runner"...
#27 - 21 Films Videography, North Carolina; for all your wedding and corporate needs!
#28 - SmokStak is all about antique engines!
That was fun. Now to go do something useful... YAM xx
Please tell me you have to look these up, that you don't know them all off the top of your head....Amy
DeleteWe like reading all those plates and always wonder if we guess the meaning correctly. Don't you wish you could ask some of them what it really means?
ReplyDeleteMy minds eye gives me the picture of a little Asian girl riding this through a cobble street, maybe in San Fransicso in days past.
ReplyDeleteLove that TreatCycle and those were fun plates too!
ReplyDeleteI thought a food bike of some kind... it is very cute! A great selection/assortment of plates today! They were fun!
ReplyDeleteAs a cycling enthusiast living in a wet country I am thinking a fitted umbrella might come in handy!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.
The plates are always fun. Lady is not good at them, but she likes the challenge. Happy Sunday1 Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteThat bike is cool! And Mom enjoyed the plates. We are trying to catch up on commenting. Thanks for the kind words about Mom. We try to take care of her by laying on her and purring. She has thumbs and can open the cat food tins (and scoop the poop). The sooner she is mobile the sooner we can be taken care of in the manner to which we have become accustomed.
ReplyDeleteAll I think when I see that is that I would never ride it. :) XO
ReplyDeleteI am getting lazy! I took a loo earlier and decided to wait and see what Yam said.
ReplyDeleteThat picture makes me think of Mary Poppins
