Thankful for Trains and Thoroughly poetic Thursday #197

  Thankful Thursday hosted by

On Saturday January 25th the Amtrak  zoomed by us.

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats

My version of poetry in motion.

Oh what a foolish fellow!!
He must have lost a bet
If that horse misses the jump,
he will lose something much more
valuable that no amount of money can buy.
Just sayin'!!!

  1. I’ve always loved trains too, until I took the train (Crescent) from north Georgia to New Orleans! 2 hours into the 13 hour trip I was ready to get off! 😹

  4. What a cool card that is. I'm totally fascinated by how detailed some of those pop up cards are.
That guy letting the horse jump over him like that must have drawn the short straw.

  5. What a fun pop-up card that is. I'm glad you showed it to us I've never seen one like that. I guess I didn't realize that Amtrak ran through your part of the country. In Ohio it runs Way North at Cleveland or even for other South at Cincinnati. Those of us in the middle have to go looking for it.

  7. Great card for Bryan. The Amtrak and freight trains right thru the middle of our little small town.
lol... how crazy is that picture. That guy was nutz...... Just saying.

  8. That is a great card! Love those cutout cards. SSNS often gets them for me because I think they are so creative and fun. I took a girl's trip with my sis-in-laws on Amtrak... never again. I have read and seen some great train trips to the west that I think would be fun. Yes to your poem!

  9. That is a cool card from the Weim Brothers. We bet Bryan had fun putting it together. Your poem is perfect for that silly picture.

  10. That card is so cute! A gift in itself. Great poem for that picture I winced and chuckled at the same time. That looked like a long train. Sending hugs :)

  11. The card is fantastic. I will be on an Amtrak train in April for our 40th anniversary. We're going from Atlanta to New Orleans. I can't wait. Trains are the only way to travel! Have a great day. Take care.

  12. Why would a guy EVER EVER do that? By the way, the closest I have been on a train in a hundred years is in Charlotte on their metro train. It moves right along- and you get from point A to point B. Can't beat that with a stick.

  13. Such a fun pop up card and it's always fun to see Amtrak zipping by. I've been stuck in traffic many times waiting for the train to pass. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  14. What a super cool card! Mom loves riding on trains and sleeping on them too. In Germany dogs can go on trains which is why Mom was so excited when Olivia got to search the inside of a few train cars a year or so ago.

  17. I love trains but not the miniatures, I love watching or riding the trains. even the one that only takes us for 10 drive. Have been on it 4 times but the last was a few years ago.. I do hope the photo for today is photoshopped and not real, your poem says what I think, except for one other word. Idiots!

  19. So true on that poem. How thoughtful and creative of our French friends to send Bryan that card! One of these days I'm going to have to ride on a real train.
