Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats
Angel Sammy/Pam mentioned they had given us a ballet picture years ago...
They did in 2018 Madi wrote the poem. I repeat the poem today and this time I have the real photo.
Tiny Dancer
by Madi(son) D Cat
When sissy was wee, around about three
she told mom a tiny dancer I want to be.
She dreamed of tutu's and ballet shoes.
On her toes she wanted to stand.
There were no classes for girls under four.
Within a few months Mom looked some more.
She found a dancing class with an open door.
Sissy's smile of glee brightened the room
As she danced and twirled and learned to "*plies and push the floor away"
*is heels touching and toes pointing out
She learned poise and posture life's lessons galore.

Sis of Angel Madi
Note Mom:
The teacher was just the best she had all kinds of phrases that helped the younger children learn steps...one I remember,
"pliés and push the floor away"
Thankful to you all for you lovely birthday wishes!!
Especially THANKFUL to my sweet hubby took his first journey out of the house (since the Crud jumped on us). He went to Hallmark for our Traditional Bday treat.
That is a sweet poem and lovely photo of Madi's Sissy. I am glad you had a good birthday, and those treats look delicious.

ReplyDeleteWonderful poem. I'm glad you both felt well enough to celebrate your birthday with that lovely food. Hopefully you both had your taste buds working.
ReplyDeleteWe are glad you were able to have a nice birthday despite the recent illnesses. Mom loved to dance when she was little. In her first recital they did a teanpot dance where they danced to a song called I'm a little tea pot. She stopped dancing in about fifth grade. Lots of little girls enjoy dance class.
ReplyDeleteGood post. Great memories and happy you were able to enjoy your birthday after being sick.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem & precious picture of Ballerina M❣️

Love the flashback to Madi's poem... darling photo♥ A perfect traditional Birthday treat. I am glad you two are feeling better and were able to enjoy your lunch plate. Looks delicious! Hallmarks that still carry truffles and other candies are the best!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun look back at your little dancer and such a sweet hubby too! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThat poem deserved an encore
ReplyDeleteA fun birthday plate for sure. How we love that photo of Sissy. The grandgirls here did their first ballet classes at a studio called A Fairy Tale Ballet. They got to wear princess costumes and danced their hearts away. These first experiences led them both down the trail of dance of all sorts for so many years.
