Thursday Things that flutter......

This is Madi practicing her 'I could care less, I can't be bothered look'.
Last weekend I saw lovely butterflies fluttering about everywherewhile visiting Blowing Rock, NC.
Madi and I decided today was the perfect day to post these pictures......
BECAUSE we received a Versatile butterfly award from

our new friends Mr. Pip and George the Lad!!!
Madi and I thank both Pip and George for their thoughtfulness and kind words.

We are supposed to tell you several things about ourselves.

1. Mom: I love butterflies so this is very special award. Many of you might remember on July 23rd my post was all about the butterfly purse my hubby made me many years ago.
2. Madi: Has selective hearing.....she can hear me open the Greenie bag all the way from the front bedroom on the 2nd floor. The kitchen is on the first floor in the back of the house; however; she cannot hear me say NO when she is right beside me and up to no good.
3. Mom and Madi: We ARE NOT opening a shop called Madison. It is a real shop in an area where I go for lunch every day. When I saw the sign, I just had to get a picture and add some fantasy to it. My hubby often wonders how I come up with our blog post. I tell him when I see I picture my mind just thinks of a 1,000 words to go with the picture.
4.Madi: Not only does she have two adorable black freckles on her nose...several of her pads on all four feet are black
5. Mom: Nearly every time I meet a new person the first thing out of my mouth is "you remind me of....". Yep everyone reminds me of is a curse HA!!!
6. Madi: I love my mom's cornbread. She gives me little itty bitty is so good and moist. I also love Chinese chow mein noodles. Mom is amazed by this because Milky-Way did not eat any human food.
7. Mom: My favorite beverage between 7am and 11am is black coffee yep I'm hard core, my favorite beverage after 11 am is sweet iced tea.
8. Madi: My favorite beverage 24/7 is fresh flowing cool water from my electric Petmate water fountain. Sometimes Mom catches me sitting in front of it with my chin on the edge??!!!
9. Mom: I have a very vivid imagination... one picture can create 1000 words in my mind. I have enjoyed writing my entire life. I subscribed to a youth magazine that had a section on pen pals. Throughout my teen years I had several pen pals, even one in Germany. I never met any of them; however, I learned a lot about them and their home. I guess this was blogging in the Stone Ages. Blogging has created an outlet for my love of words and photography.
TTFN, (who can tell me what these letters mean and what child's book they come from?
No prizes just the satisfaction of getting it right!!! MOL
Madi and Mom

  1. Tigger says, "ta ta for now", in A. A. Milne's book The House at Pooh Corner!

Congrats on the award, We enjoyed all the neat inside scoop!
    ~K and the Pups

  2. I knew a stripper once who used to say "Ta-tas for now" but I don't guess that counts...

PS. Not really... I just wanted to say 'ta-tas'. :)

  3. Hi Madi & Mom,

We LOVE your butterfly photos and the flowers are gorgeous too. I had pen pals way back when too, I never thought of it that way but I guess it was an early form of blogging.

Looks like Ms. K beat us to it but it was definitely Tigger.

Uh oh, Cindi saw Madi practicing her "could care less" look and decided to practice too.

  4. Hello Madi Diva Cat and Mom

We rather like the idea of a water fountain specially for Madi. That nifty idea.

Could tell your mom a wordy being, she writes lots. Sometimes it is all we can do to get her (she who must be obeyed) to write three.

    Hector and Bonny too

  5. Hi Madi and mom, what beautiful butterflies! Congratulations on your pretty Award too. It is always cool to learn new things about our friends when they do the tags.
Of course we have selective hearing too so can relate to that!
Our mum can't start the day without her coffee and although we don't have a fountain we have a stream in the garden where the water tastes better than in our bowl!
    Martha and Bailey xxx

  6. Oh Such lovely Pics!! Congrats on the award too! coffee!

  7. Oh Madi, you totally fooled me with that post about opening the store! My mom tells me I have selective hearing as well ...I think she is saying something right now, but I am not listening.

    Your pal, Pip

  8. Congratulations on the award. It's very much deserved. You really are most versatile bloggers.

We think that TTFN was definitely Tigger.

I did just want to respond to what you said about Franklin being my fearless defender. Well, some day and it'll be welcome when I'm elderly, but for right now the shoe is on the other paw. Not that any defending has been necessary, but he looks to me if he gets scared. He's very much a baby even though he's taller than I am. For instance, even after he met Sambuca, our next door neighbor, he wouldn't go over to the fence to talk to her unless I was there for quite a while.

    lotsa licks, Lola

  9. Jack!! Right.. wink wink...

Madi love the pictures and thanks for sharing that information!!!! Congrats on the award!!

    Licks from Olive

  10. Madi,

Yay fur your new award! You is most deserving of it. Pip and George are good furiends of mine too. :)

    Woofs and Licks,
    Maggie Mae

PeeS My mom drinks her coffee black (no sugar) too but not a fan of sweet tea. :(

  11. Congratulations on your awardie! You both so totally deserve it! I luvs your mom's imagination, Madi! It's gotta be SO much fun to live with her!

Oh, and Madi's mom, Cap'n Ripley and Abby wanted me to tell you that there is no cat-speak equivalent to "no," so that's prolly why Madi doesn't understand you when you say it.

    Wiggles & Wags,

  12. Ms. Kit is one sharp cookie.
I love the butterfly and flower pics.
I did so enjoy your story on opening a store.
Its always interesting to see where your mind/words take us to next. lol
I had a penpal in Germany when I was in grade school. I think they went to the beach and bared all. That was not for me. I often wonder about her now. I wish I had kept in touch.

  13. JackDaddy your funy!!

Kit your sharp as a tack!!

Love your Blog Mom and Madi :)

  16. I would like some of Mom's cornbread and not just a little bit.

You were blogging in the stone age! So cool!

Love those beautiful pictures of butterflies!

  17. OH Madi that's funny we both had Pooh references in our posts today! You're right great minds think alike. It's a good thing it's my mind and not Momma's cuz sometimes she is a doodle brain. Except when she pops open the cans of our stinky goodness then she is a Goddess!

Concats on the award and we love love LOVE learning more about you and your Mom.

  20. Hi Madi and Mom! We love the pictures, and congrats on the award. Those were interesting thing to learn about you! And we knew you were kidding about the store - we thought it would be strange (but funny) if you were really doing it.

  21. Concats on the award. We like the butterfly pics. Our mum had penfriends too from France, Germany and Czechoslovakia. The Czech girl stayed with our mum while her parents were in London. It was when the Russians invaded and she wanted to stay with our mum because she was afraid to go back, but her parents collected her and said they had to hurry back. Our mum never heard from her again and often wonders if she was safe.

  22. Madi and Mom, those butterflies are beautiful!! And congrats on that great award. We enjoyed learning more about both of you! Madi, we would like to try your mom's cornbread!!

  23. Congratulations on your award, Madi!
